Enshrouded Amber: Revelwood Location, Pickaxe and All 43 Recipes

You mine Enshrouded Amber in the Revelwood Shroud, the fog of the second big region past the Springlands. You need Flame Level 3 and a pickaxe to get there, and after that the material goes into 43 recipes, from Flame Level 4 and the first class armor to fire spells and furniture.

This guide covers where to find Amber, what to bring for mining it, which recipes ask for it and how much you should gather for each goal. Recipes and amounts come from the game data database enshrouded.th.gl for version 1.0. The totals are our own math.

🟠 Where to find Amber in Enshrouded

For Enshrouded Amber, the game data database enshrouded.th.gl lists exactly one source: the Revelwood Shroud. According to the community wiki, Revelwood is a level 10 to 15 region. The material itself is item level 13, and its description says it formed through years of petrification. The database doesn't list a vendor, a loot source or an alternative recipe.

The key word is Shroud. You won't find any of it in the open Revelwood forest, so you have to go into the fog. Your timer runs there, and without the right Flame Level your Shroud passage level won't even let you in. How to stretch your time in the fog is covered in our Shroud timer guide.

📍 Known Enshrouded Amber spots in Revelwood

The English community wiki at enshrouded.wiki.gg (last edited in September 2026, so before 1.0) lists several deposits in a deep Shroud cavity north of the Revelwood Ancient Spire. The cavity sits between Abandoned Hunter Camp and Hidden Hollow Tomb.

A GamesRadar guide from January 2024 also describes three rock formations with deposits just east of the Ancient Spire, two on rock pillars and a bigger one on a cliff face. Both spots date from Early Access. According to the 1.0 changelog, Keen Games reworked Revelwood's terrain, plants and forest density. 🔥 Enshrouded Amber requirement: Flame Level 3

According to the database, Flame Level 3 unlocks Revelwood. It raises your Shroud passage level to 3 and your Shroud time to 7 minutes. In version 1.0 the level costs 10 each of Wax, Salt, Shroud Wood and Flintstone, plus 25 Mycelium, 5 Sparks and the Scavenger Matron Helmet. ⛏️ Which pickaxe you need for Enshrouded Amber

You mine Enshrouded Amber out of the rock with a pickaxe. The database doesn't name a minimum pickaxe. GamesRadar wrote in 2024 that any pickaxe works and that you also get regular stone while mining. That's an Early Access claim we couldn't check against the 1.0 game data.

According to the 1.0 changelog, Keen reworked the hardness of several mining materials and raised the damage of the higher pickaxes. The Copper Pickaxe is the obvious choice, since you mine its copper in the same region. Where the copper veins are is shown in our Enshrouded ore farming guide.

🧪 What Enshrouded Amber is used for

The database lists 43 uses. They're spread across five craftspeople, one vendor, the manual crafting menu and the Flame Altar. One pattern stands out: almost every weapon recipe comes in several levels, and each higher level asks for a bit more Amber.

🔥 Flame Level 4: 15 Enshrouded Amber

For almost every player, the biggest single cost is Flame Level 4. It unlocks the Nomad Highlands and, according to the database, costs 15 each of Goo, Corrupted Boar Tusk, Indigo Plant, Amber and Copper Ore, plus 10 Sparks and the Fell Wispwyvern Head. The Alchemist makes Goo from Shroud mushrooms and Springlands soil.

🛡️ Armor and shield

Six level 10 chest pieces use Enshrouded Amber, each together with Copper Bars and Giant Critter Scales. Two more pieces, a pair of gloves and a shield, round out the list:

⚔️ Weapons with several levels

The database lists the Staff of the Serpent at the Lunar New Year Trader, together with Ectoplasm and metal bars. It doesn't say whether that trader is around all the time or only during an event. Despite its name, the Amber Bow doesn't need any Amber. It doesn't show up in the list of uses.

✨ Spells and ammo

At the Alchemist, Fireball II, Fire Totem I and Pillar Of Flames I take 5 each, and according to the database each recipe gives 20 charges. Fire Bolt III (3 Amber plus 4 Resin) and Fire Bolt IV (4 Amber plus 4 Charcoal) are made without a station in the manual crafting menu, according to the community wiki.

The biggest single cost is Eternal Fireball I with 25 Amber, plus 25 Charcoal, 3 Bronze Bars and 5 Petrified Shroud Stalker Shell. The Hunter turns 25 Bronze Arrows, a Poison Sack and 2 Amber into 25 Poisoned Bronze Arrows.

🪑 Furniture at the Carpenter

Five pieces of furniture eat a lot of Enshrouded Amber: Polished Wooden Throne (20), Large Palm Wood Cupboard and Large Boreal Wood Cupboard (16 each), Sand Throne (7) and Magnificent Granite Table (5). The two cupboards also need 8 Lapislazuli each, and the granite table needs Amethyst and Obsidian from later regions.

📊 Our math: how much Enshrouded Amber you need

We added up all 43 recipes from the database. Each recipe counts once, so every weapon level counts on its own.

A normal playthrough needs only a fraction of all that Enshrouded Amber. Flame Level 4, one chest piece for your class and a first level 11 Wailing Blade cost 24 to 26 Amber together. If you craft all six chest pieces for your co-op group, you need 28. All five levels of the Wailing Blade add up to 35, and all four levels of Jezmina's Apotheosis to 28.

For spells, it's worth doing the math per charge. Fireball II, Fire Totem I and Pillar Of Flames I each cost 25 Amber per 100 charges. Fire Bolt III is the cheapest at 15 per 100 charges. Our tip for your first trip into the fog: bring back 40 Amber. That covers Flame Level 4, armor and a weapon and leaves some for fire spells. A stack holds 250 according to the community wiki, so space is no reason to take less.

💡 Tips for farming Amber in Enshrouded

• Grab copper on the way: Copper Ore is in the same region, and Flame Level 4 asks for 15 of it directly.
• Watch the timer: Enshrouded Amber deposits are in the Shroud. Plan the cavity so you're back in clean air with time to spare.
• Stock up instead of coming back: Every weapon level costs material again. If you gather 40 to 60 on your first visit, you won't have to return for the next weapon levels.
• Healers and mages: The Healer Tunic and Mage Chest cost 6 instead of 4, plus Indigo Plant. You need that for Flame Level 4 as well.

🔄 Does Patch #1 change anything?

No, not for Enshrouded Amber. Keen Games' official changelog for Patch #1 (version 1.0.1.0) from November 2, 2026, and hotfix 1.0.1.1 from November 3 don't mention Amber, mining in Revelwood, pickaxes for mining or any of the recipes above. The patch does add two more craftable versions of lore weapons without naming them, so the recipe count could still shift. All changes are sorted in our Patch 1.0.1 notes.
