You make Enshrouded Copper Bars in the Smelter: according to the game data database, 10 Copper Ore and 10 Charcoal give you 10 bars there, while the community wiki asks for 20 ore. You mine the ore in Revelwood, which opens up at Flame Level 3.
This guide covers where the ore comes from, which furnaces you need, all 68 recipes that use Enshrouded Copper Bars and our own math on how much Copper Ore you really need for your start. Recipes and item names come from the game data database enshrouded.th.gl (version 1.0). The totals are our own calculations.
๐ Where to find Copper Ore in Enshrouded
The game data database enshrouded.th.gl lists only one source: Revelwood. It shows no vendor, no loot drop and no recipe that produces the ore. The material is item level 13, and its description reads "A common ore needed to create Copper Bars." The English community wiki at enshrouded.wiki.gg puts Revelwood at biome level 10 to 15.
One difference from Amber, which comes from the same region: for Amber, the database explicitly says Revelwood Shroud, for Copper Ore just Revelwood. Whether every copper vein sits outside the fog can't be read from that.
๐ What we know about the spots
The community wiki says you mine Copper Ore veins, which you first find in Revelwood. The page was edited on October 29, 2026, so after 1.0. It doesn't name specific veins or a mine. The region page lists two mines, "Mark of Sameth" and "Glimmer Rock Mine", but doesn't tie either of them to copper.
So rather than guess, we don't give fixed coordinates. Requirements and costs for every level are in our Flame Altar levels guide.

You mine copper veins with a pickaxe. Neither the database nor the community wiki names a minimum pickaxe. With your first Enshrouded Copper Bars, the Blacksmith makes the Copper Pickaxe from 8 Copper Bars and 1 Hardwood (item level 10). Without the Blacksmith there's no tool and no furnace. According to the database, Flame Level 3 unlocks Revelwood, raises your Shroud Passage Level to 3 and gives you 7 minutes in the Shroud.
๐ฅ How to make Enshrouded Copper Bars: Smelter or Blast Furnace
Two furnaces turn Copper Ore into Enshrouded Copper Bars. Unlike tin, you don't need Wood Acid here, just fuel.

The sources disagree here: The game data database enshrouded.th.gl gives the amounts from the table, so 1 ore per bar in both furnaces. The Copper Bars page on the community wiki enshrouded.wiki.gg lists 20 Copper Ore and 20 Charcoal for 10 bars in the Smelter (5:00 minutes) and 30 Copper Ore and 30 Coal for 20 bars in the Blast Furnace (4:30 minutes).
The wiki's Smelter page, last edited in August 2025, says 10 ore and 10 Charcoal with a crafting time of 3:30 minutes. Which numbers apply in the current client can only be checked in game. We run the math with both values below.
With the database values, the Blast Furnace saves no copper. It just handles twice the amount per run and burns Coal instead of Charcoal. With the wiki values, it needs 1.5 ore per bar instead of 2.
๐งฑ Building the Smelter
Before you smelt your first Enshrouded Copper Bars, the Blacksmith has to make the Smelter from 50 Fired Bricks and a Crucible. The Crucible costs 3 Lump of Clay, 3 Springlands Dirt and 5 Sand. You also mine clay in Revelwood. How to turn it into bricks is in our Enshrouded Lump of Clay guide.
The Blast Furnace isn't really an option during the copper phase. Among other things, the Blacksmith wants 10 Iron Bars for it, and according to the database you only mine Coal in the Albaneve Summits. Until then you make your own fuel as Charcoal in the Charcoal Kiln: 12 Wood Logs and 3 Springlands Dirt give you 10.
๐งช All recipes with Copper Ore
The ore itself only goes into three recipes: the two bar recipes and Flame Level 4. According to the database, that one asks for 15 Copper Ore plus 15 each of Goo, Corrupted Boar Tusk, Indigo Plant and Amber, 10 Spark and a Fell Wispwyvern Head. It unlocks the Nomad Highlands and gives you 8 minutes in the Shroud. So don't smelt everything.

The database lists 68 items that need Enshrouded Copper Bars. Armor is item level 10, most weapons level 11. A few weapons at level 26 and 36 still need another 2 to 4 bars.

๐ค Bronze: where the rest of your copper goes
From the Nomad Highlands on, Bronze is what you'll mostly be making, and that's where most of your Enshrouded Copper Bars end up. In the Smelter, 7 Copper Bars, 3 Tin Bars and 10 Charcoal make 10 Bronze Bars. In the Blast Furnace, 10 Copper Bars, 4 Tin Bars and 10 Coal make 20. ๐ Our math: how much Copper Ore you need for Enshrouded Copper Bars
Crafting all 68 recipes once eats 203 Enshrouded Copper Bars. The Blacksmith takes 68 of them, the Carpenter 38, the Alchemist 28 and the Hunter 27. Decor, Bard, trader, workshops and Bronze share the rest. Nobody crafts all of that at once, so we put together a shopping list for a normal playthrough.
It covers the Copper Pickaxe, the Copper Axe, the full Adventurer set, Flame Level 4 and the 14 Copper Bars that our tin math says you need for your first 19 Bronze Bars. The Smelter works in fixed runs of 10, so full batches count:

If the wiki amounts apply (20 ore and 20 Charcoal for 10 bars), the Smelter cost doubles: 80 Copper Ore and 80 Charcoal, so 95 Copper Ore including Flame Level 4. With the database values, the Charcoal Kiln runs four times for the 40 Charcoal: 48 Wood Logs and 12 Springlands Dirt. You end up with 5 spare bars.
Your choice of set barely matters. At 9 bars the Adventurer set is the most expensive, Tank costs 8, Ranger 6, Cutthroat and Healer 5 each, Mage 4.
Our tip for your first big mining run: 65 Copper Ore with the database values, 115 with the wiki values. That covers the list plus a level 11 Wailing Blade (4 bars) and the Alchemy Station (5 bars), so five Smelter runs. According to the community wiki, a stack of Copper Ore holds 250.
๐ก Tips for farming Enshrouded Copper Bars
- Grab Amber too: Flame Level 4 asks for 15 Copper Ore and 15 Amber from the same region.
- Wood first: Stock up on about 50 Wood Logs before you start making Charcoal.
- Clay on the same trip: The Smelter and Crucible need 53 Lump of Clay, also from Revelwood.
- Save some for Bronze: Once you have the Blast Furnace, 100 Bronze Bars cost you 60 Copper Ore instead of 70.

How do I make Copper Bars in Enshrouded?
In the Smelter from 10 Copper Ore and 10 Charcoal (makes 10 bars) or in the Blast Furnace from 20 Copper Ore and 20 Coal (makes 20), according to the game data database. The community wiki lists higher amounts: 20 ore for 10 bars in the Smelter and 30 ore for 20 bars in the Blast Furnace.
Where do I find Copper Ore in Enshrouded?
In Revelwood. The game data lists no other source, and no vendor or loot drop.
Is the Blast Furnace worth it for Enshrouded Copper Bars?
Not for ore, according to the game data database: both furnaces turn one ore into one bar. According to the community wiki, the Blast Furnace saves a quarter of your ore. Either way it handles more per run and burns Coal instead of Charcoal.
How much Copper Ore does the Flame Altar need?
15 for Flame Level 4. According to the database, no other Flame Level asks for any.
What should I craft first with Enshrouded Copper Bars?
The Copper Pickaxe for 8 bars. After that, the Copper Axe and an armor set for your class, together 8 to 13 bars.
