Enshrouded Tin Ore only comes from the Shroud of the Nomad Highlands, which you can enter at Flame Level 4. Tin Ore turns into Tin Bars, Tin Bars plus copper become Bronze, and Flame Level 5 asks for 20 ore on top.
This guide covers where to find tin, what you need to mine it, all 39 recipes that use Tin Ore or Tin Bars, and our own math on how much ore you really need for your start in the Nomad Highlands. Recipes and item names come from the game data database enshrouded.th.gl (version 1.0). The totals are our own calculations.
โช Where to find Enshrouded Tin Ore
The game data database enshrouded.th.gl lists exactly one source for Enshrouded Tin Ore: the Nomad Highlands Shroud. It shows no vendor, no loot drop and no recipe that produces the ore. The material is item level 18, and its description calls it "an ore which contains traces of tin." The English community wiki at enshrouded.wiki.gg puts the Nomad Highlands at biome level 15 to 20.
That means you won't find tin veins out in the open parts of the highlands. You have to go into the fog while your timer runs. According to the database, Flame Level 4 unlocks the region, raises your Shroud Passage Level to 4 and gives you 8 minutes in the Shroud. How to stretch that time is in our Shroud timer guide.
๐ Known spots
According to the community wiki, Tin Ore is mined from tin veins in mines and cave passages in the Nomad Highlands Shroud. It lists two mines for the region, "Mining Rift" and "Smothering Pit", but doesn't say which of them holds tin. The region page was last edited on October 4, 2026, so before 1.0.
The German community database eprison.de names two spots: a dust pit ("Staubgrube") to the east, roughly level with a keep and south of the Nomad Highlands Ancient Spire, and a mining shaft a little further west, level with the same spire. That entry dates from Early Access (last updated in October 2025). We couldn't confirm whether these two spots are the same places as the two wiki mines.
In the 1.0 changelog, Keen Games writes that especially in the Nomad Highlands it is now easier to find your way through the Shroud and back out, and adds 3 new save points in the Nomad Highlands Shroud. โ๏ธ Which pickaxe you need for Enshrouded Tin Ore
You mine Enshrouded Tin Ore from its veins with a pickaxe. Neither the game data database nor the community wiki names a minimum pickaxe. The Copper Pickaxe is the obvious pick, since its copper comes from Revelwood, the region before. With your first tin, the Blacksmith can make the Bronze Pickaxe: 8 Bronze Bars and 1 Hardwood.
Without the Blacksmith, there are no bronze tools or armor. Where to find him and the other survivors is in our Enshrouded craftspeople guide. Since 1.0, the details menu of more resources also shows a hint on where to get them. That helps when you can't find the mine in the fog right away.
๐ฅ Tin Bars in Enshrouded: Smelter or Blast Furnace
Two furnaces turn Enshrouded Tin Ore into Tin Bars. Both also need Wood Acid, which you make at the Charcoal Kiln just like Charcoal: 15 Wood Logs and 3 Springlands Dirt give you 10 Wood Acid.

The Blast Furnace saves a quarter of your ore. The catch: you only mine Coal in the Albaneve Summits. In the Nomad Highlands you'll work with the Smelter and Charcoal instead (12 Wood Logs and 3 Springlands Dirt for 10). The community wiki lists a crafting time of 4 minutes for both tin recipes, a value from before 1.0.
๐ค Enshrouded Bronze: where most of your tin goes
Most of your Enshrouded Tin Ore ends up in Bronze. The database lists two recipes:
- Smelter: 7 Copper Bars, 3 Tin Bars and 10 Charcoal make 10 Bronze Bars.
- Blast Furnace: 10 Copper Bars, 4 Tin Bars and 10 Coal make 20 Bronze Bars.
According to the database, Bronze Bars go into 120 recipes. Among them are the Bronze Pickaxe, the Bronze Axe (4 Bronze Bars, 3 Linen, 1 Hardwood), the level 15 armor sets, Bronze Arrows, many level 16 weapons, trophies, chests and building blocks. One Bronze Bar and 5 Wood Logs make 100 Bronze Blocks at the Workbench.

Only six recipes ask for the raw ore. Besides the two Tin Bar recipes and the Flame Altar, those are three color palettes from the Coloring Station that make 5 each.

Tin Bars smelted from Enshrouded Tin Ore show up in 33 recipes, counting both Bronze recipes. One pattern stands out: armor usually needs just 1 or 2 bars, while weapons with several levels ask for one more bar per level.

The single biggest item is Eternal Chain Heal I at 10 Tin Bars, plus 10 Antiseptic, 10 Fossilized Bone and Monstrous Ribs.
๐ Our math: how much Enshrouded Tin Ore you need
We added up every recipe in the database once, counting each weapon level separately. The 31 recipes without Bronze use 72 Tin Bars in total: 23 at the Hunter, 21 at the Blacksmith, 21 at the Alchemist and 7 at the Workbench and Sparkworks Workbench. The four levels of the Valor Heart Daggers alone cost 18, the Dragon Sword 10. The six recipes for raw Enshrouded Tin Ore use 51 ore directly.
For a normal playthrough, a smaller shopping list matters more: Flame Level 5, the Bronze Pickaxe, the Bronze Axe and the full Mercenary set from the Blacksmith. According to the database, the set costs 2 Tin Bars and 7 Bronze Bars, the pickaxe and axe another 12 Bronze. Since every furnace works in fixed batches, we calculated with full runs:

For 50 Charcoal and 2 Wood Acid, the Charcoal Kiln runs six times: 75 Wood Logs and 18 Springlands Dirt. You're left with 1 Bronze Bar and 2 Tin Bars. Our tip for your first trip into the mine: bring back 40 Enshrouded Tin Ore. That covers the list and leaves some spare for weapons or gloves.
Later on, the Blast Furnace pays off for large amounts of Bronze. For 100 Bronze Bars, the Smelter needs 30 Tin Ore, 70 Copper Ore and 200 Charcoal. The Blast Furnace gets by with 15 Tin Ore, 60 Copper Ore and 125 Coal, so half the tin. According to the community wiki, a stack holds 250.
๐ก Tips for farming Enshrouded Tin Ore
- Don't forget Spark: Besides the ore, Flame Level 5 asks for 20 Spark and four more resources from the Nomad Highlands.
- Wood first: Before your first tin run, stock up on about 75 Wood Logs for the Charcoal Kiln.
- Combine ores: According to the community wiki, Copper Ore is also mined in the Nomad Highlands. For the Bronze math you need more copper than tin.
- Plan the timer: At Flame Level 4 you have 8 minutes in the Shroud. Head into the mine with free inventory space and get out before time runs short.
