Warframe Narin Guide: How to Get Her, Abilities and The Icebind

Warframe Narin has been in the game since September 23, 2026. She arrived on all platforms with Update 44.0, "Iceblade of Narin," as a sword-dancer who freezes enemies and turns their Cold status into her own shields. Before launch, most of what circulated about her came from a single devstream. This guide sorts out what actually shipped, how you get her and what changed in the weeks since.

Short version: you farm her in the Zariman Ten Zero, or you buy her parts from Cephalon Melica for Entropic Kuva. The new six-player mode that was announced as Glacial Defiance is live too, but under a different name.

โœ… Warframe Narin: what's confirmed

These points come from Digital Extremes' official update page and the patch history on the community-run wiki at wiki.warframe.com. Everything on this list launched on September 23, except The Icebind and the Riven Splicer, which followed with Update 44.1 on October 7, 2026.

  • Release: September 23, 2026, all platforms, Update 44.0.
  • Update name: "Iceblade of Narin."
  • Role: Digital Extremes calls her a sword-dancer Warframe who uses ice to protect herself as skillfully as she uses her rapier to attack.
  • Yuvan Peak: a new player hub on Earth where her blade sits frozen in the ice.
  • The Icebind: the six-player mode first announced as "Glacial Defiance." It went live with Update 44.1 on October 7, 2026.
  • Entropic Eximus: a new Zariman-exclusive enemy that drops Entropic Kuva.
  • Riven Splicer: a new item that merges two Riven traits into one. Splicing went live with Update 44.1 on October 7, 2026.
  • Same-day content: the Banshee rework, Citrine Prime Access, new TennoGen and new Atragraph mods.
  • Login gift: Banshee was free through login from September 23 to October 7. That window has closed.

If you want the details on Banshee's new kit, they're in our Banshee rework breakdown. Citrine Prime launched the same day; how to get her free through relics is in our Citrine Prime guide.

๐Ÿ“… Release date and the September 24 confusion

September 23 was on both the English and the German update page, for all platforms at once, and that's the day the update dropped.

Several Korean reports from the reveal at the TennoVIP event in Seoul on September 4 gave September 24 instead. That was almost certainly the time zone. Warframe updates usually go live in the afternoon Canadian time, which is already the next day in Seoul. Digital Extremes never commented on it, and it doesn't matter anymore now that she's out.

โ„๏ธ Narin's abilities

Narin was shown in Devstream 197 on September 4, and the live kit kept the same ability names. The descriptions below follow the community wiki's write-up of the release version.

AbilityWhat it does
Passive: SangodaeCold stacks on enemies raise the chance of a Sangodae pickup, which adds extra Cold damage to your primary and secondary weapons for 15 seconds (10 seconds at launch, raised with Hotfix 44.0.3). Narin's abilities also deal Cold damage.
1: NeoteA forward thrust that rapidly stacks Cold and Puncture status.
2: NaraemagiDrains Cold status from enemies to restore Narin's shields and give her Overguard.
3: HakchumNarin takes flight and dives, creating a frost dome that applies Cold damage vulnerability.
4: NurinarimA sword dance that creates a Cold aura and fires energy waves that shatter armor and shields.

The loop is simple once you see it. Neote and Hakchum stack Cold, Naraemagi cashes those stacks in for shields and Overguard, and Nurinarim strips defenses. If you want Overguard, you have to freeze things first.

Base stats at rank 30, per the wiki: 370 health, 650 shields, 165 armor, 290 energy and 1.1 sprint speed. Her Progenitor element is Cold. Before release the wiki listed Impact, which turned out to be wrong.

๐ŸงŠ How to get Narin

Before launch there was no official word on acquisition, and press reports guessed she'd come from the new six-player mode. She doesn't. You have two routes, both tied to the Zariman Ten Zero.

PartMission dropCephalon Melica (Entropic Kuva)
Narin BlueprintZariman Exterminate and Mobile Defense, 8.89%400
Chassis BlueprintVoid Flood, 4.23% (A), 4.60% (B), 8.33% (C)130
Neuroptics BlueprintVoid Cascade, same rotation chances130
Systems BlueprintVoid Armageddon, same rotation chances130

The full set from Melica costs 790 Entropic Kuva. You get it from Entropic Eximus, which only spawn in the Zariman. To use Melica's shop you need the quests Angels of the Zariman and Whispers in the Walls. Mastery Rank requirement: none, according to the wiki.

Our take: farm the missions and bank the Entropic Kuva at the same time. Rotation C in Void Flood, Cascade and Armageddon roughly doubles the part chance, so staying for the full rotation is worth it. If the RNG doesn't cooperate, the Kuva covers the missing part.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Yuvan Peak, The Icebind and Melica's Glacial Laboratory

Yuvan Peak is a player hub on Earth, similar to Cetus or Fortuna. You claim mission keys called Cryobells from an ice pillar there and talk to Cephalon Melica to start The Icebind.

The Icebind is the mode announced as Glacial Defiance. Before launch, sources disagreed on whether it was tied to Yuvan Peak or the depths of the Zariman. The answer is both: you start it on Yuvan Peak, the missions themselves run on almost any planet, and your rewards wait aboard the Zariman afterward. What the wiki lists:

  • Six-player squads, no duplicate Warframes, missions of roughly 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Each Cryobell rolls a random mission type, planet, faction and modifiers. The squad votes on which one to play.
  • Three Cryobells form each week, and you can stockpile up to six.
  • Up to three squad side objectives per mission. Failing one fails the mission.
  • Requirements: Angels of the Zariman, Whispers in the Walls and an unlocked Elite Archimedea.

After a successful run you land in Melica's Glacial Laboratory on the Zariman Ten Zero. It's a reward room, not a combat zone. You open Crested Frozen Chests and Frozen Chests there with keys earned during the mission. The Frozen Chests hold 1,750 to 7,500 Kuva plus a reward table.

๐Ÿ”— Riven Splicer: the change most people missed

The official pre-release page mentioned a resource called Glacium for keeping certain traits when you reroll a Riven. The wiki's page for The Icebind doesn't list Glacium as a reward at all. What did ship is the Riven Splicer, guaranteed from the Crested Frozen Chest after each completed Icebind run.

The Splicer combines two Riven traits into one spliced trait. Both source traits are used up, and the spliced trait plus a new random trait take their place. The important part: spliced traits stay locked when you reroll, and locking them doesn't double the Kuva cost. For the first time you can keep a good stat instead of gambling everything on every roll. How rerolling works in general is covered in our Riven mods guide.

โš ๏ธ What's still unclear

  • Glacium: it was on the official preview page, but we couldn't find it in the live mode's reward list. Whether it was cut or folded into the Riven Splicer is not stated anywhere we could check.
  • Signature weapons: the wiki lists the bow Nunchasa and the dual pistols Aksondol as her signature weapons. According to the wiki, neither has a Narin-specific bonus. Both deal Cold damage.
  • Narin Prime: nothing announced.
  • Warframe number: the wiki counts her as the 66th unique Warframe. That's a community count, not a Digital Extremes statement.

๐Ÿ’ก Getting started with Narin

A new frame burns Forma and an Orokin Catalyst, so keep both ready before her build finishes. If you haven't unlocked the Zariman yet, that's step one: both farming routes run through it. And hold on to Rivens you had given up on. With the Riven Splicer, some of them might be worth saving.

The Icebind is endgame content with very high enemy levels and a squad that has to play together. If you're not there yet, our Steel Path beginner's guide covers the groundwork. Next on the calendar is Epoch Operation: Taubound, which Digital Extremes has scheduled from October 15 to November 17, 2026.

โ“ FAQ about Warframe Narin

When did Warframe Narin come out?

On September 23, 2026, on all platforms, with Update 44.0 "Iceblade of Narin." Reports from Seoul that named September 24 were most likely a time zone difference.

How do I get Narin?

Her main blueprint drops from Zariman Exterminate and Mobile Defense, the components from Void Flood, Void Cascade and Void Armageddon. Alternatively, Cephalon Melica sells the full set for 790 Entropic Kuva, which drops from Entropic Eximus in the Zariman.

Do I get Narin from The Icebind?

No. Pre-release press reports pointed to the six-player mode, but the parts come from the Zariman and Melica's shop. The Icebind rewards Riven Splicers, Kuva and chest loot.

What kind of Warframe is Narin?

A sword-dancer built around Cold status. She stacks Cold with her abilities and converts it into shields and Overguard with Naraemagi. Her Progenitor element is Cold.

Does Narin cost real money?

No. The update is free and her parts can be farmed. Citrine Prime Access, which launched the same day, is the paid part.

What happened to Glacial Defiance?

It was renamed. The mode went live as The Icebind with Update 44.1 on October 7, 2026, two weeks after Narin.

As of October 2026 (Update 44.1 "The Icebind," latest hotfix 44.1.1 from October 8, 2026). Checked against Digital Extremes' official update and news pages on warframe.com, the Hotfix 44.0.3 patch notes and the community-run wiki at wiki.warframe.com for Narin, Update 44 and The Icebind. Drop chances, Entropic Kuva prices, base stats, ability descriptions and the Warframe count come from the wiki, which is written by volunteer editors, not by Digital Extremes staff. We couldn't confirm whether Glacium exists in the live game.
