Warframe Eidolon Hunt Guide: Night Cycle, Amp Builds and Gear

The Warframe Eidolon hunt happens on the Plains of Eidolon, and only at night: for 50 minutes, three Sentient bosses roam the Plains, and your weapons alone can't break them. You need your Operator, a self-built Amp for the shield and charged Eidolon Lures to capture them.

This guide walks through one night, the Amp build, your loadout and the rewards. The values come from the community-run wiki at wiki.warframe.com, as of October 2026.

๐ŸŒ™ When a Warframe Eidolon hunt is possible

You reach the Plains of Eidolon through Cetus on Earth. The cycle there keeps running in real time, even when you're offline: 100 minutes of day, then 50 minutes of night, about 150 minutes per cycle. The Teralyst, the Vomvalysts and the Eidolon Lures only appear during the night window. When the sun comes up, everything disappears, and any fight in progress is over.

That's the first hurdle: you can't just head out whenever you feel like it. Miss the night and you wait up to 100 minutes for the next one. Plan around it and be out on the Plains when night falls, not still standing in Cetus.

๐Ÿ”“ Requirements: Operator, Quills and your first Amp

Nothing works without the Operator. The Eidolon shield only takes Void damage from an Amp. Every weapon and every Warframe ability bounces off it. You unlock the Operator with The War Within quest, and that's the hard wall most new players get stuck on.

After that, you'll find The Quills in a cave in the northeast of Cetus, behind Konzu's notice board. Only the Operator can get through the entrance. Onkko sells the Mote Amp blueprint for 500 Standing. It's enough to scratch the Teralyst's shield, but far too weak for a serious hunt.

โš’๏ธ Amp builds: three parts and the number codes

An Amp has three parts: Prism, Scaffold and Brace. The Prism is the primary fire mode, the Scaffold the alt fire, and the Brace changes the stats. The community shortens Amps to three digits, the series number of each part. A "177" means series 1 as Prism, series 7 as Scaffold and series 7 as Brace.

SeriesPrismScaffoldBraceSource
1RaplakPenchaClapkraQuills, rank Mote
2ShwaakShraksunJuttniQuills, rank Observer
3GranmuKlebrikLohrinQuills, rank Adherent
4RahnPhahdAnspathaQuills, rank Instrument
5CanticExardSuoVox Solaris, rank Agent
6LegaDissicPlagaVox Solaris, rank Hand
7KlamoraPropaCertusVox Solaris, rank Instrument

Series 5 to 7 don't come from The Quills but from Little Duck of Vox Solaris in Fortuna. Series 5 needs rank Agent there, series 6 rank Hand, and the blueprints for Klamora Prism, Propa Scaffold and Certus Brace rank Instrument.

No official text says which combination is best. That's community knowledge. In recent threads on the Warframe forums, 127, 427, 177, 477 and 777 come up the most. The last digit stays the same: the Certus Brace adds 20 percentage points of critical chance, so it's almost always in. For the Prism, range decides. Raplak and Rahn hit most reliably at distance.

One more thing for the Warframe Eidolon hunt: an Amp only really counts once it's gilded. The Amp has to be rank 30, and you need rank Adherent with The Quills or rank Hand with Vox Solaris, plus 5,000 Standing. Only after gilding can you install a Focus Lens and earn Mastery from it.

๐Ÿฉธ The fight: shield, Synovia and Eidolon Lures

Every Eidolon fight follows the same pattern. First there's an impenetrable Sentient shield. You only break it with Void damage from your Amp: Operator out, keep firing. Once the shield is down, the boss's joints become vulnerable. The game calls them Synovia. You destroy those with weapons. On the Teralyst each destroyed Synovia takes 20 percent of its max health, on the Gantulyst one seventh. Every Synovia also triggers an Energy Spike with magnetic pulses.

After every Synovia the shield comes back, and the cycle starts over. Once all Synovia are gone, the Eidolon calls in Vomvalysts, which heal it by 5 percent of its max health each if they reach it. In this last phase, its whole body is vulnerable.

Lure work runs at the same time. Eidolon Lures sit at Grineer camps on the Plains at night. You shoot them until they're disabled and then hack them. You can't destroy them. Next, you charge each one with three Vomvalysts, which get absorbed within about 5 to 6 meters. A charged Lure tethers the Eidolon within a 50-meter radius and stops it from teleporting away after every Synovia.

Lures have 600 shields, 1,000 health and 100 armor. They break reliably in a fight if nobody heals them. That's why a Trinity with Blessing or another heal source belongs in every serious squad.

๐Ÿ“ฆ The three Eidolons and their order

The order is fixed. The Teralyst shows up on its own. The other two have to be summoned at the shrine in the middle of Gara Toht Lake, where you offer the shards from the previous fight.

Teralystspawns on its own, blue light column4250,000 health / 50,000 shields

HydrolystRadiant Eidolon Shards at the shrine, green light column6365,000 health / 70,000 shields, residue pools and lightning

Capturing all three in one night is what the community calls a "Tridolon." Capturing beats killing every time: it only needs one more Lure and unlocks extra shards, more Sentient Cores and a better Arcane table.

๐Ÿ”ง Loadout: Warframes, weapons and Arcanes

The Synovia have Sentient health. It's weak to Radiation and Cold and resists Corrosive, which is why Radiation on a sniper rifle has been the standard for years. Rubico Prime and Lanka are the usual picks, and Vectis Prime works too.

On the Warframe side there are four roles: Trinity keeps the Lures and squad alive with Blessing, Volt brings Electric Shield for the damage bonus, Chroma supplies Synovia damage through Vex Armor, and Harrow soaks the Energy Spikes with Covenant. That split is established community practice, not something any official text spells out.

For Arcanes, Arcane Nullifier against magnetic effects is the obvious choice. On the Focus side, Madurai's Void Strike boosts your Amp damage massively. Unairu's Magnetic Flare does disable enemy shields for up to 30 seconds, but according to the wiki it doesn't affect bosses, so it won't help against the Eidolon shield.

๐Ÿ’ฐ What a Tridolon night actually pays

Here's the honest math for a full night. Is a Warframe Eidolon hunt worth it? If you capture all three Eidolons in one night, you're left with nine Eidolon Shards, three Brilliant and two Radiant Eidolon Shards after summoning costs. Converted to Focus, that's 22,500 plus 75,000 plus 80,000, or about 177,500 Focus per Tridolon. That's why the hunt counts as the fastest way to a finished Focus school.

The second reason is Arcanes. And this is where it pays to stay level-headed: according to the wiki, Arcane Energize only drops from a captured Hydrolyst, at about 5 percent per capture. Its max rank is 5, which takes 21 copies. Statistically that's around 420 Hydrolyst captures, so 420 full Tridolon runs. The wiki also lists Rotation C of Orphix missions in Veil Proxima at about 1.41 percent.

If you only want that one Arcane, trading is almost always faster. If you need Focus, Sentient Cores and Standing all at once, the hunt is the right place. As a warm-up for endgame content, try The Steel Path first.

๐Ÿ’ก Warframe Eidolon hunt FAQ

Can I do a Warframe Eidolon hunt solo?

The Teralyst, yes, with some practice. The Gantulyst and Hydrolyst are possible solo but slow: you have to keep three Lures alive, break the shield and destroy six Synovia, all inside a 50-minute window.

What's the minimum Amp I need?

The Mote Amp technically works, but it costs you so much time on the shield that one night is barely enough for a Teralyst. A gilded Amp with a Certus Brace is the realistic starting point.

Why does the Eidolon disappear mid-fight?

Because you didn't have a charged Lure in range. Without one, it teleports away after every destroyed Synovia. The tether only reaches 50 meters.

What's the difference between killing and capturing?

Killing works without a full Lure setup but gives less. Capturing needs two or three charged Lures and unlocks extra shards, more Sentient Cores and Arcanes that aren't even on the kill table.

What are Sentient Cores for?

Standing with The Quills. An Intact Sentient Core gives 250, an Exceptional 750 and a Flawless 1,500 Standing. That's how you pay for Amp blueprints and gilding.

Did anything change about the hunt in 2026?

The basic flow with shield, Synovia and Lures is the same. According to the wiki, the Eidolons' stats were last raised in Update 40, with the Teralyst now at 50,000 health and 50,000 shields. Older guides with lower numbers are out of date.
