- โ FAQ about the Holtzman Actuator in Dune Awakening
You can't craft the Dune Awakening Holtzman Actuator: you loot it from wrecks, salvage it from crashed ornithopters or buy it from vendors for 1,000 Solaris apiece. It goes into boosters, thrusters, Holtzman Shields and suspensor belts, and according to the community wiki that's 33 recipes needing 626 units in total.
Below you'll find every known way to get it, the full recipe list with amounts per Mk tier, and our own math on which tier eats the most actuators.
Bolting your first booster onto a Buggy or Sandbike in Dune Awakening, you'll almost always get stuck on the same line in the Vehicle Fabricator. Steel and Particle Capacitors are ready, but you're short on actuators. A single Mk4 booster already asks for 31 of them.
โ๏ธ What the Holtzman Actuator is
The dune.gaming.tools database reads its values from the game files (data version 1.5.3.7) and lists it as a tier 1 component under "Misc โ Components". Its item text says that people who regularly use suspensor belts and similar tech tend to stash spare parts like these where only they can reach them. Neither the database nor the community wiki awakening.wiki shows a recipe for it. We used the same database for our Buggy guide and the Holtzman Shield guide.
| Property | Value |
|---|---|
| Name | Holtzman Actuator |
| Tier / rarity | 1 / Common (database) |
| Craftable | No, loot or purchase only |
| Volume / stack size | 0.1 / 500 |
| Base vendor price | 100 (community wiki) |
| Dropped on death | No (community wiki) |
| In the game since | Version 1.1.0 (community wiki) |
That base price of 100 is the internal base value. Just like with Complex Machinery, the vendor price is derived from it: buying costs ten times as much, while selling only gets you 5 Solaris per unit according to the database.
๐ Where to find Holtzman Actuators in Dune Awakening
The database lists exactly one loot table containing the Holtzman Actuator, and it's a generous one: "Fallen Shipwreck", with a 96.2 percent chance of 40 to 111 units. Per the database, that table applies in the Hagga Basin and in the Deep Desert, where it's split into a PvE and a PvP version with identical values.
- Salvage crashed ornithopters: The database names small ornithopter wrecks as the best source. You take them apart with the Cutteray, especially in the Hagga Rift region. Game8 describes the same method without giving amounts.
- Basic containers: Game8 also lists Basic Chests as a source. That's a player guide from July 2025, and the database shows no loot table for it.
- Smuggler's Run: The database lists two spawn points at this location, but with no chance or amount.
Fittingly, Funcom made these wrecks easier to loot with patch 1.5.15.0 on October 19, 2026. The official patch notes say: "Small Shipwrecks that crashed from the sky can be looted easier." Funcom doesn't tie that change to the loot table directly.
The database doesn't say outright whether "Fallen Shipwreck" is a container or the salvage point on the wreck itself. In our research on Advanced Machinery, the same table showed up among the Deep Desert containers. Check in-game what a wreck drops on your server.
๐ Where to buy Holtzman Actuators
According to dune.gaming.tools (data version 1.5.3.7), three vendors sell the Holtzman Actuator for 1,000 Solaris each, with a stock of 20 apiece and no requirements:
- Myr Charki
- Dr. Shaffat
- Fleshshaper Phrakk
Per Game8, Myr Charki stands in the Griffin's Reach Tradepost, on the right side of the hall next to the Contracts Board. Together the three vendors hold 60 units, which comes to 60,000 Solaris for the whole stock. If that's more than you have, the Solaris farming guide covers how to earn it. None of the sources say when stock refills. Beyond that there's the Exchange in Arrakeen and Harko Village, where prices vary by server.
๐ All 33 recipes that use the Holtzman Actuator
All amounts come from the community wiki (page last edited October 5, 2026, status "In Review"). Vehicle parts are made at the Vehicle Fabricator, most of them in 20 seconds, and Mk2 parts also at the basic Fabricator.
Buggy and Sandbike boosters
| Part | Mk2 | Mk3 | Mk4 | Mk5 | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Buggy Booster | โ | 25 | 31 | 15 | 71 |
| Rattler Boost Module (unique) | โ | 25 | 36 | 17 | 78 |
| Sandbike Booster | 15 | 25 | 31 | 15 | 86 |
| Night Rider Sandbike Boost (unique) | 17 | 25 | 36 | 17 | 95 |
On top of that, the Buggy Booster Mk3 needs 30 Steel Ingot, 30 Particle Capacitor, 17 Cobalt Paste and 200 Water. The Sandbike Booster Mk2 is the cheapest way in at 23 Iron Ingot and 15 Particle Capacitor. What boosters and boost modules do for your vehicle is covered in the Buggy and Sandbike guides.
Ornithopter parts
| Part | Mk4 | Mk5 |
|---|---|---|
| Scout Ornithopter Thruster | 31 | 15 |
| Assault Ornithopter Thruster | โ | 15 |
| Stormrider Boost Module (unique) | 36 | 17 |
| Steady Assault Boost Module (unique) | โ | 17 |
How to unlock the Scout and Assault Ornithopter is in the ornithopter guide.
Holtzman Shield, suspensor belts and wings
| Gear | Units needed |
|---|---|
| Holtzman Shield Mk2 / Mk3 / Mk5 | 10 / 15 / 20 |
| The Emperor's Wings Mk2 / Mk3 / Mk4 / Mk5 | 9 / 14 / 18 / 9 |
| Full Suspensor Belt | 16 |
| Planar Suspensor Belt | 12 |
| Leap Suspensor Belt | 8 |
| Responsive Planar Suspensor Belt | 8 |
Besides its 10 actuators, the Mk2 shield only costs 15 Iron Ingot and 10 Particle Capacitor. The Full Suspensor Belt needs 14 Aluminum Ingot, 30 Particle Capacitor, 14 Cobalt Paste and 255 Water at the Survival Fabricator.
Improved Holtzman Actuator
The tier 6 version is made at the Advanced Survival Fabricator in 3 seconds from 3 regular units, 2 Plasteel Plate, 1 Cobalt Paste and 50 Water. That's the same pattern as Advanced Machinery. Per the database, the Adaptive Holtzman Shield takes 26 Improved Holtzman Actuators, which works out to 78 regular ones. Where the Cobalt Paste comes from is in the Erythrite Crystal guide.
๐งฎ Our math: where the actuators go
We ran the 33 wiki recipes through Python and priced them at the 1,000 Solaris vendor rate.
| Goal | Units needed | Purchase value in Solaris |
|---|---|---|
| Buggy Booster Mk3 to Mk5 (one of each) | 71 | 71,000 |
| Sandbike Booster Mk2 to Mk5 | 86 | 86,000 |
| Scout Ornithopter Thruster Mk4 and Mk5 | 46 | 46,000 |
| Holtzman Shield Mk2, Mk3 and Mk5 | 45 | 45,000 |
| All 20 vehicle recipes | 461 | 461,000 |
| All 11 gear recipes | 139 | 139,000 |
| All 33 wiki recipes once each | 626 | 626,000 |
| Without the disputed Buggy Cutteray | 603 | 603,000 |
Three takeaways matter for planning:
- Mk4 is the most expensive step. Every booster and thruster at Mk4 wants 31 units, the unique modules 36. At Mk5 the count drops to 15 or 17, but Duraluminum and Particle Capacitor costs go up instead.
- Vendor stock covers just under two parts. 60 units pay for one Mk4 booster plus one Mk3, but not all three Buggy Boosters (71).
- One wreck beats the vendors. Assuming every amount between 40 and 111 is equally likely, a hit averages 75.5 units, or about 73 once you factor in the 96.2 percent chance. That's more than the entire vendor stock and worth roughly 73,000 Solaris. The even distribution is our assumption, not something the database states.
If you only build the shield and the Sandbike Booster up to Mk5, 131 units will do, so about two good wrecks. Add another 78 if you want the Adaptive Holtzman Shield.
โ ๏ธ Where the Dune Awakening sources disagree
The wiki lists the Buggy Cutteray Mk3 with Holtzman Actuators, but the table can't be read cleanly at that spot: across several reads we got 23 and 31 units. Our total uses the lower value. The database (data version 1.5.3.3), as covered in our Buggy guide, shows 30 Steel Ingot, 25 Particle Capacitor, 17 Cobalt Paste and 10 Ray Amplifier for that part instead, with no actuators at all. The 626 total includes the wiki value. Without it you're at 603.
The other way around, the database has recipes the wiki lacks: Treadwheel parts (Treadwheel Boost Mk4 and Mk5, Steady Treadwheel Boost Module Mk4 and Mk5, Swift Treadwheel Engine Mk5), though without amounts. Game8 also names the Power Gauntlets and Idaho's Charge, which none of our data sources confirm. What your fabricator shows is what counts.

Checked against Dune Awakening Update 1.5 with Hotfix 1.5.15.3 (October 28, 2026) as of November 2026. The official patch notes for 1.5.15.0 (October 19, 2026) and the hotfixes through 1.5.15.3 mention no change to the Holtzman Actuator itself. They make small wrecks easier to loot and only fix how the boost effect is displayed on the Raider Buggy and the Treadwheel.
