Farming Dune Awakening Insulated Fabric really only pays off in one place: the O'odham settlements in Hagga Basin, where community guides find the component in crates. You can't mine or craft it, and vendors charge 4,000 Solaris apiece.
This guide shows what you need it for, with all eight recipes and amounts, where to find it solo and in the Deep Desert, and when buying still makes sense.
๐ฆ What is Insulated Fabric in Dune Awakening?
Insulated Fabric is a tier 4 crafting component. It stacks to 500 with a volume of 0.1 per unit, and its short description simply says it's found in loot.
The in-game flavor text tells you where to look: "Insulated fabric was one of the cottage industries of the O'odham, before the pyons were displaced from their old villages." Those villages are exactly the farming spots today.
Like every component, the fabric has no node in the world. The item database built from the game files lists no crafting recipe either. That leaves three ways in: crates, vendors and recycling. The difference between ores and components is explained in our guide to farming components.
๐งช What you need Dune Awakening Insulated Fabric for: all 8 recipes
The component goes almost entirely into water and blood containers. That's why it flies under the radar for so long: no tool or weapon depends on it, but your water supply from tier 4 onward does.
| Recipe | Tier | Station | Amount | Other ingredients |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Atmospheric Filtered Fabric | 6 | Advanced Survival Fabricator | 3 | 50 Water, 2 Plasteel Plate, 2 Plant Fiber |
| Decaliterjon | 4 | Survival Fabricator | 4 | 190 Water, 21 Aluminum Ingot, 6 Micro-Sandwich Fabric |
| Large Blood Sack | 4 | Survival Fabricator | 4 | 190 Water, 11 Aluminum Ingot, 12 Micro-Sandwich Fabric, 6 Plant Fiber |
| Hajra Literjon Mk4 | 4 | Survival Fabricator | 5 | 190 Water, 25 Aluminum Ingot, 7 Micro-Sandwich Fabric, 9 Spice-infused Aluminum Dust |
| Sinner's Bloodbag | 4 | Survival Fabricator | 5 | 190 Water, 13 Aluminum Ingot, 14 Micro-Sandwich Fabric, 7 Plant Fiber, 9 Spice-infused Aluminum Dust |
| Hajra Literjon Mk5 | 5 | Survival Fabricator | 7 | 390 Water, 32 Duraluminum Ingot, 10 Micro-Sandwich Fabric, 35 Silicone Block, 11 Spice-infused Duraluminum Dust |
| Maas Kharet Bloodbag | 5 | Survival Fabricator | 7 | 390 Water, 16 Duraluminum Ingot, 19 Micro-Sandwich Fabric, 7 Plant Fiber, 11 Spice-infused Duraluminum Dust |
| Double-sealed Stilltent | 5 | Survival Fabricator | 7 | 390 Water, 32 Duraluminum Ingot, 28 Micro-Sandwich Fabric, 69 Silicone Block, 11 Spice-infused Duraluminum Dust |
Amounts are from the game-file database dune.gaming.tools. The community wiki still shows higher amounts for some recipes, so trust the number your fabricator shows.
The math hardly any guide does: if you want to build each of these eight recipes once, you need 42 pieces in total. From a vendor that's 168,000 Solaris. A single Large Blood Sack, on the other hand, takes four pieces. That's a short detour, not a farming project.
Sinner's Bloodbag, Hajra Literjon, Maas Kharet Bloodbag and the Stilltent are special variants with their own schematics. The database places the Sinner's Bloodbag schematic in Hagga Basin and the schematics for the Maas Kharet Bloodbag and the Stilltent in the Deep Desert. More on staying hydrated is in the water guide.
๐ Where to find Insulated Fabric: the O'odham
The item database dune.gaming.tools counts 20 locations for the component in Hagga Basin and 4 in the Deep Desert (database version 1.5.3.3). Exactly which crates those are only shows on its interactive map.
Community guides consistently place the Hagga Basin spots in the O'odham, a region of its own inside Hagga Basin. They name the settlements Stonestep Village, Rockwarren Village, Windsong and Mendek's Shithole.
The containers are scattered across the camps, plus rare chests. Community reports call the rare chest the best source. There's no reliable count per crate, and the guides date from before Update 1.5, so don't count on fixed amounts.
โ๏ธ Farming Insulated Fabric solo: the village route
Solo, a loop through all four settlements is the way to farm Dune Awakening Insulated Fabric. Community guides rate the enemies in the O'odham as tough for the region, so bring good armor and plenty of healing. An ornithopter saves a lot of time between the villages; how to build one is in the ornithopter guide.
- Clear the camp, then loot: the smaller containers are spread around the camp, the rare chest comes at the end.
- Take everything: with stacks of 500 and a volume of 0.1, the component barely uses inventory space.
- Watch for schematics: according to the community wiki, the rare chest in Stonestep Village holds, among other things, the schematic for the Hajra Literjon Mk4, exactly the recipe you build with the fabric.
- Farm what you need: count through the table first. Two Large Blood Sacks need eight pieces, not fifty.
If you play alone, the quirks of solo mode are covered in the single-player guide.
๐ Farming in a group and in the Deep Desert
In a group the route barely changes, the camps just go down faster. Split the villages or clear them together and agree beforehand on who opens which chest.
The four Deep Desert spots are more bycatch than a farming target. A different trick pays off there: according to the database, the tier 6 Atmospheric Filtered Fabric drops at 70 locations in the Deep Desert and is also sold by the Landsraad vendor. Every one you find or buy saves you three Insulated Fabric. More on the zones is in the Deep Desert PvE guide.
๐ฐ Vendors as a fallback
Three vendors carry the component: Zoe, Dr. Shaffat and Fleshshaper Phrakk, each with a stock of 15 at 4,000 Solaris. You'll find Zoe at the Crossroads Tradepost. Selling the fabric only gets you 20 Solaris per piece, so surplus is almost worthless.
On paper, the three vendors' combined 45 pieces cover the full demand of all eight recipes. If you have Solaris to spare, you can skip the villages entirely. Quick ways to earn the money are in the Solaris farming guide.
โป๏ธ Recycling: what you get back
Recycling the fabric itself only returns one Plant Fiber. The other direction is more interesting: all seven containers in the table except the Atmospheric Filtered Fabric return Insulated Fabric when recycled. Old Literjons or blood bags from crates belong in the recycler, not on the market.
๐ก Four mistakes when farming Dune Awakening Insulated Fabric
- Buying in bulk: the vendor charges 4,000 Solaris, selling gets you 20 back. Every extra piece is money almost entirely lost.
- Crafting Atmospheric Filtered Fabric yourself: for tier 6, search the Deep Desert or check the Landsraad vendor first. That keeps your fabric for the tier 4 and 5 containers.
- Selling old containers: Literjons and blood bags from crates give the fabric back in the recycler. Selling them earns less.
- Trusting old amounts: many guides on farming Insulated Fabric predate Update 1.5. Count in-game what a crate really gives.

Checked against the game data as of October 2026 (Update 1.5). Recipes, amounts, vendors, recycling and location counts come from the item database dune.gaming.tools, which pulls its data from the game files (versions 1.5.3.0 to 1.5.3.3). English item names and the flavor text are cross-checked against the community wiki awakening.wiki. The O'odham place names come from community guides (method.gg) and awakening.wiki; they are not officially confirmed by Funcom and partly predate Update 1.5.
