Soulframe Access 2026: How to Still Get Into Preludes
Open Soulframe access has been closed again since July 13, 2026. If you want in today, create a free account on soulframe.com and wait for one of the 2,000 invites Digital Extremes sends out every week, or buy one of the official Founders Packs, which unlock access instantly. Preludes still runs exclusively through the official site on PC. Steam and Epic come later, and consoles have not been promised.
The confusion sticks around because in July anyone really could get in without waiting for several days. Plenty of articles still talk about that open TennoCon weekend. That window is closed. Here is what applies to your Soulframe access right now, how the weekly draw works and which legitimate shortcuts you still have.
⏳ Soulframe access: why the open weekend is over
For TennoCon 2026, Digital Extremes opened the doors completely for a few days. Anyone who signed up during that period got in right away, and permanently: access granted that way also covers all future Preludes updates. The cutoff was Sunday, July 12, 2026, 11:59 PM ET.
Since then the old mode is back. The official FAQ is clear about it: “We are returning to closed access and will continue sending out 2,000 invites per week to players who signed up after the cutoff time.” In short: closed access, 2,000 invites per week, and everyone who signed up after the cutoff is in the queue.
So if you find an article from mid-July promising instant access when you sign up now, it has simply expired. There is no instant Soulframe access through a free sign-up since the cutoff. Whether and when the next open weekend comes, the studio has left open.
📅 How to sign up for the weekly draw
The path to Soulframe access is short and costs nothing:
- Create an account on soulframe.com. An existing Warframe login works too.
- Register for Preludes there. That puts you in the pool for the weekly selection.
- Wait. Every week 2,000 registered Envoys are drawn and invited by email.
- Accept the invite, download the launcher from soulframe.com, install it and start playing.
There is no waitlist number or countdown. Digital Extremes doesn't share the size of the pool either, so no honest wait time can be calculated. Anyone claiming it takes “two weeks on average” is guessing. Check your spam folder regularly, since the invite arrives as a normal email.
🔑 Soulframe access without waiting: invite codes from friends
This is the point most overviews skip. Anyone who receives an invite gets four extra invite codes to pass on in the same email. If you know someone who is already playing Preludes, your Soulframe access costs you one message instead of weeks of patience.
The codes are redeemed on the official promo code page at soulframe.com, not in game. A second path: devstreams occasionally run Twitch Drops with Preludes codes. For that you need to link your Twitch and Soulframe accounts first and then redeem the code manually.
The third path is paid and official: since November 25, 2025, Digital Extremes has sold Founders Packs in the shop on soulframe.com. Wyld Tethren, Wyld Oscelda and Wyld Sirin cost $29.99 each, differ only cosmetically and come with two invite codes each. The Paragon pack for $99.99 includes four bonus codes, ten in total.
Every pack unlocks “Instant Access to Soulframe Preludes” according to the shop, and the free weekly invites keep running alongside. What's in the packs and who should buy one is broken down in our Soulframe Founders Pack guide.
Stay away from code offers on marketplaces and in forums. The codes are free and account-bound, which makes them a popular scam bait.
🎮 Platforms: PC now, Steam and consoles later
Platforms are the second big source of confusion. Soulframe does have a Steam page with a wishlist button, but Preludes is not playable through it. Soulframe access currently runs exclusively through the in-house launcher.
| Platform | Status | When |
|---|---|---|
| PC via soulframe.com | playable, but closed access | now, via draw, invite code or Founders Pack |
| Steam | not playable | only once access opens up more broadly |
| Epic Games Store | not playable | only once access opens up more broadly |
| PlayStation and Xbox | not promised, no console deals per Devstream 17 | not during Preludes, no date |
The FAQ says: “For now, Preludes is only available through https://www.soulframe.com so we can iterate quickly.” The reason is speed: through its own launcher the studio can patch faster than through third-party stores. Steam and Epic aren't canceled, but explicitly not planned before the broader release.
There is no console commitment: according to Soulframe Devstream 17 on September 18, 2026, Digital Extremes has no deals with console makers yet. Preludes stays PC-only. If you are waiting for a console beta, you'll be waiting a while.
⚠️ Will your progress be wiped later?
The most common question before jumping in: is it worth playing if everything disappears at the end? The official answer is “we aspire to avoid future wipes and preserve progress moving forward”. The studio wants to avoid future wipes and keep progress.
The key word is “aspire”. Preludes is explicitly a pre-alpha, and Digital Extremes reserves the right to reset after all if major rework requires it. Such a step would be announced in advance. If you start today, you play with a very good chance of keeping your character, but no guarantee. If you want to start over yourself, our reset character guide explains what is actually possible.
🔑 What to do right after your invite
The first hours in Midrath are confusing because the game explains little. This order saves you frustration:
- Basics first: controls, combat and the first tasks are in the Soulframe beginner guide.
- Pick a pact: your starting class shapes your playstyle. Which ones exist and how to switch is in the Pacts overview.
- Understand the stats: Courage, Spirit and Grace work very differently. Details in the Virtues guide.
- Unlock fast travel: without activated World Trees you'll walk your feet off.
- Understand loot: how bonuses on gear work is explained in the Tempers guide.
After that, the repeatable content pays off: dungeons for predictable loot and world bosses for the bigger rewards. What the latest update added is summed up in our Preludes 16 overview.
💡 Soulframe access FAQ
Does Soulframe access cost money?
Both options exist. Free: create an account on soulframe.com, register for Preludes and wait for one of the 2,000 weekly invites. The game itself costs nothing. Paid: the official Founders Packs in the soulframe.com shop unlock access instantly, from $29.99 for Wyld Tethren, Wyld Oscelda or Wyld Sirin, $99.99 for Paragon. Only the shop on soulframe.com is official. Key shops, resellers and sold accounts don't come from Digital Extremes.
How long until I get an invite?
That can't be predicted. 2,000 invites go out per week, and Digital Extremes doesn't publish how many people are waiting in the pool. The draw is random, so signing up early guarantees nothing.
Can I play Soulframe on Steam?
Not right now. Preludes only runs through the soulframe.com launcher. A Steam version is planned, but only for when access opens up more broadly.
Does my access cover later updates?
Yes. Once unlocked, your Soulframe access stays and includes upcoming Preludes updates. You don't need to apply again or catch any event.
Is Soulframe playable on PS5 or Xbox?
No. During Preludes the game stays PC-exclusive, and a console version has not been promised: per Devstream 17 there are no deals with console makers yet.
