Planet Crafter Endgame Guide: Uranium, Nuclear Reactors and Rockets (2026)

Solar panels and wind turbines carry you through the early terraformation stages, but the Planet Crafter endgame needs a lot more power. From here on almost everything revolves around Uranium: nuclear reactors, rockets and the fastest way to push your Ti value into huge numbers. This guide picks up where our terraformation stages guide ends.

โ˜ข๏ธ Planet Crafter endgame resource number one: Uranium

Uranium is concentrated in its own cave, the first stop of every Planet Crafter endgame run. Early on you'll also pick some up from crates and wrecks all over the map, so loot those before you rely on the cave alone.

For steady mining inside the uranium cave you need a T2 Ore Extractor or T3 Ore Extractor. According to planetcrafter.th.gl, the basic Ore Extractor only works on tier 1 ore veins, and Uranium isn't on its list. The drills (T1 Drill to T5 Drill) are terraforming machines only. They raise pressure and never mine ore.

โšก Planet Crafter endgame power: T1 vs. T2 Nuclear Reactor

ReactorCostEnergy output
T1 Nuclear Reactor1 Uranium Rod, 3 Super Alloy, 2 Water bottle86.5 kW, a solid base load
T2 Nuclear Reactor3 Uranium Rod, 1 Super Alloy, 3 Water bottle, 1 Explosive powder331.5 kW, much more per rod

A Uranium Rod takes 9 Uranium. Once you have enough rods, the T2 Nuclear Reactor is almost always the better deal. Three rods give you 331.5 kW, roughly 110 kW per rod. The T1 version gets 86.5 kW out of a single rod (values from planetcrafter.th.gl).

A practical trick: build two T1 reactors first. As soon as a third Uranium Rod is ready, tear them down and put the materials into one T2 Nuclear Reactor.

๐Ÿš€ Planet Crafter endgame rockets

The Launch Platform unlocks at 345 kTi and gives you access to the terraforming rockets. Each type adds a big, global bonus to one of the core values:

RocketEffect
Asteroid attraction rocket (heat)+1000% heat. It also attracts uranium asteroids.
Magnetic field protection rocket (pressure)+1000% pressure. It also attracts iridium asteroids.
Plant Rocket (plants)+1250% plants, unlocks at 175k Biomass

Worth knowing: according to player reports, the bonuses from several rockets add up, they don't multiply. Each extra rocket gives a smaller relative gain than the one before. The effect is still permanent and also covers every machine you place afterwards.

โ˜„๏ธ Meteor showers: the Planet Crafter endgame ore source

The heat and pressure rockets come with a side effect that's worth more than it looks. According to player reports, each shower drops around a dozen meteors, and every meteor scatters several rocks with Uranium or Iridium across the landscape. For most players this is the most efficient way to get large amounts of both. It beats grinding in the caves.

Rule of thumb: always keep at least 2 Uranium back for the Rocket Engine of your next rocket (recipe according to th.gl: 1 Iridium Rod, 2 Uranium, 1 Super Alloy, made at the Advanced Craft Station) before you turn the last of it into Uranium Rods. And don't launch two rockets right after each other. Collect everything from the last shower first.

๐ŸŒ€ Fusion power as the next Planet Crafter endgame step

Once you've collected enough Pulsar Quartz, the Nuclear Fusion generator becomes your next upgrade. According to planetcrafter.th.gl it costs 5 Pulsar Quartz and 4 Super Alloy, unlocks at 750 ยตK heat and delivers 1.49 MW, as much as about four and a half T2 Nuclear Reactors. Switch over when building more T2 reactors no longer makes sense for the materials they cost.

It's a classic Planet Crafter endgame pattern. Each tech level fixes your power problem for a while, until the next expansion of your base asks for more again.

Don't mix it up with the Fusion Energy Cell. That's not a power plant but a component, used for example in the Drone station, the Portal generator and the Extraction platform. It costs 1 Obsidian, 2 Osmium and 3 Pulsar Quartz and is made at the Advanced Craft Station, one more reason to stockpile Osmium early.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Planet Crafter endgame Ti milestones

MilestoneUnlock according to th.gl
Launch Platform (first rocket)345 kTi
Fusion Energy Cell38 GTi
Drone station (logistics)40 GTi
Portal generator (distant wrecks)250 GTi
Animal shelter500k Biomass

These values help you judge how far into the endgame you really are and what comes next. That's more useful than staring at an abstract progress bar.

๐Ÿ The real goal: full terraformation

For all its separate systems, the Planet Crafter endgame has one clear target: full terraformation of the world you're on. It's the last stage, the point where the planet is permanently livable.

The Ti value you need depends on the world. According to the February 2025 patch notes, the last stage ends at 4 TTi, which back then covered Prime and Humble. For the later worlds the community wiki on planet-crafter.fandom.com lists higher marks, for example 6.5 TTi for Toxicity and 8 TTi for the moon Skeo. Once you reach that threshold, you can launch a rocket and either finish the game officially or travel on to the next world. How that works is covered in our overview of all Planet Crafter planets.

If you play on Prime, keep 4 TTi in mind as a concrete end goal, not just a number on a progress bar. Uranium mining, reactors, rockets and meteor showers from this guide all serve that one purpose: pushing your terraformation past the threshold as efficiently as possible.

๐Ÿงช Planet Crafter endgame materials: Osmium and Super Alloy

Besides Uranium, the endgame keeps asking for Osmium and Super Alloy. Rockets, reactors and many advanced parts all need them at once. On Prime, Osmium sits in the ice caves, which according to community guides only open once enough heat melts the ice. According to planetcrafter.th.gl, the T2 Ore Extractor produces Osmium, Uranium and Super Alloy when you place it on the right vein. If you only start looking when a recipe suddenly asks for them, you lose a lot of time.

Set up small mining outposts early, alongside the uranium cave. Super Alloy can also be crafted at the Advanced Craft Station.

๐Ÿ’ก Planet Crafter endgame pro tips

  • Focus on one value at a time (heat or pressure) instead of mixing rockets at random. That's the faster way to the next unlock.
  • Put a T2 or T3 Ore Extractor in the uranium cave as soon as you have one. It gives you a steady supply on top of the meteor showers.
  • Before every reactor upgrade, do the math: is another T1 Nuclear Reactor worth it, or is it time for the T2?

๐Ÿšซ Common Planet Crafter endgame mistakes

  • Putting all your Uranium into reactors with nothing left for the next rocket
  • Launching two rockets back to back instead of collecting the first meteor shower
  • Sticking with T1 reactors when you already have enough rods for a T2 Nuclear Reactor
  • Trying to mine the uranium cave with the basic Ore Extractor or even a drill

Before the Planet Crafter endgame starts, a good base location saves you a lot of walking, and our microchips guide shows how to collect blueprints along the way.

โ“ Planet Crafter endgame FAQ

Is one T2 Nuclear Reactor really better than two T1 reactors?

Yes. The T2 gives 331.5 kW, two T1 reactors together only 173 kW, and the T2 is also more efficient per Uranium Rod. The usual route: build two T1 reactors first, then switch to one T2 when you have the materials.

Why does my extractor make no progress in the uranium cave?

According to planetcrafter.th.gl, the basic Ore Extractor only works on tier 1 veins, and Uranium isn't one of them. You need at least a T2 or T3 Ore Extractor. Drills never mine ore, they're only for terraforming.

How many rockets should I launch at once?

Not several in a row. Always collect the full meteor shower of your last rocket before the next one goes up.

When should I switch to fusion power?

Once you have enough Pulsar Quartz and more T2 Nuclear Reactors no longer justify their cost. A Nuclear Fusion generator delivers 1.49 MW, about as much as four and a half T2 reactors, and needs no Uranium.

What happens when I reach full terraformation?

You can launch a rocket and either finish the game officially or travel straight on to the next world. The Ti value you need depends on the world. On Prime it's 4 TTi.

Checked against the planetcrafter.th.gl game database, Miju Games' patch notes on Steam and the community wiki on planet-crafter.fandom.com (final marks of the later worlds) as of October 2026 (main branch v2.103, Skeo update). Item and building names, recipes, crafting stations, power values, rocket effects and the unlock values in the milestone table come from th.gl (the database writes power as "W", the game shows the same numbers in kW). Player reports from the Steam discussions, not developer statements: the meteor shower size and how rocket bonuses stack. Recipes and thresholds can change with updates.
