Dune Awakening Landsraad Guide: How the Political Endgame Works
Once you reach the endgame in Dune: Awakening, the real fight for Arrakis begins: the Dune Awakening Landsraad. Guilds aligned with House Atreides and House Harkonnen compete week after week for votes in the council of the Great Houses, and the winner pushes through server-wide effects that apply to everyone. This guide explains the full cycle: missions, reward tiers, the Sysselraad win and the decrees.
Short version: the Landsraad is Dune Awakening's political endgame. Your faction (Atreides or Harkonnen) earns Landsraad Contribution through Landsraad missions to win the votes of individual Houses. Whoever secures a Sysselraad wins the weekly vote, and the guild leaders of the winning faction pick a decree that applies server-wide for a week.
๐๏ธ What Is the Landsraad?
In the Dune universe, the Landsraad is the high council of the Great Houses that makes many of the Imperium's decisions, with final ratification by the Emperor. Because of the ongoing War of Assassins on Arrakis, the Landsraad votes on a decree every week, and that decree can tip the balance of power. Player guilds that have joined Atreides or Harkonnen fight for the council's favor on behalf of their patron house. If you haven't picked a side yet, our faction guide covers Atreides vs. Harkonnen.
๐ The Weekly Cycle: Houses, Contribution and Sysselraad
Every week a new Landsraad term starts. Houses are revealed on the Landsraad board, and both factions compete for them. The mechanics:
- Win a House: the first side to reach 70,000 Landsraad Contribution with a House secures its vote for that term.
- Secure a Sysselraad: a faction wins the weekly vote either by holding five Houses in a row (horizontal, vertical or diagonal) or by simply controlling more Houses than the opponent when the voting session starts.
- Pick a decree: guild leaders of the winning faction then vote on one of three decrees, which applies server-wide for the following week.
๐ Landsraad Missions
Update 1.3 introduced Landsraad missions. They replaced the old, repetitive tasks (kill X enemies, hand in resources or vehicles to the quartermaster) and broadened the PvE endgame. At any time there are three missions per Landsraad block to choose from, which you can complete for every currently revealed House in that block. The mission types cover different playstyles, so everyone contributes to the faction's success.
Update 1.4 and patch 1.4.10.0 expanded the missions further. Funcom's announcement for Update 1.5 (live since September 17, 2026) looks back on the whole first year and sums up the rebuild once more: repeatable missions in five categories (combat, crafting, gathering, exploration and sabotage) instead of resource turn-ins, explicitly playable for PvE players, and progression through twenty ranks up to Atreides Envoy or Harkonnen Enforcer. None of that is new in 1.5: the missions arrived with Update 1.3 as described above, and according to the community wiki, Update 1.3 also raised the maximum Faction Rank to 20. In single-player mode the Landsraad keeps running with simulated guilds. Funcom does not say explicitly whether the House board, Sysselraad and decrees stayed unchanged; the community wiki still lists them as of October 2026 as described below.
Unlocking: according to community guides, you start the Landsraad through an introductory quest, "Politics of Spice", at the central trade hub. After that you get a kind of Landsraad license and can take missions from your faction's envoy. (This step is not officially documented by Funcom and may change.)
๐ Rewards: Your Personal Tiers
Important: rewards are based on your personal contribution, not on your guild's total. Each House offers five randomly rotating reward tiers per term. The thresholds (in Landsraad Contribution) according to the community wiki:
- Tier 1: 700
- Tier 2: 3,500
- Tier 3: 7,000
- Tier 4: 10,500
- Tier 5: 14,000
Earned rewards accumulate across terms and can be claimed anytime from the respective House Representative. Because personal contribution is what counts, solo players and small guilds do fine too. An earlier patch adjusted this specifically in favor of small groups.
๐ฏ Decrees: The Server-Wide Effects
The real prize of the power struggle is the decrees: week-long bonuses that apply to the whole server. Guild leaders of the winning faction choose one of three random decrees. It lasts until shortly before the weekly Deep Desert reset. Examples from the current pool:
- CHOAM Production Contract: -25% refining and crafting costs, water costs included.
- CHOAM Refining Contract: -75% refining times and repair costs.
- In Honor of the Fallen (Ranged): +33% ranged damage. There's also a melee version.
- Exclusive Import Rights (Tool, Armor, Weapon or Vehicle): unlocks a special Landsraad vendor with Mk5 and Mk6 gear and limited Mk6 blueprints.
Bonuses like these are a real lever for the whole endgame, so the weekly win is fought over hard. A week of the CHOAM Refining Contract, for example, makes it the right time to farm the Deep Desert components and refine in bulk.
๐ฅ Solo or Guild?
You can complete the missions solo and collect the personal reward tiers. Real influence on the vote, though, only comes through a guild aligned with your faction, because only guild leaders with enough voting power choose the decree in the end. For maximum personal loot it often pays to focus on a House that doesn't fill up too early, instead of blindly joining the big guilds on their strongest target.
โ FAQ: Dune Awakening Landsraad
How do I unlock the Landsraad?
Usually through an introductory quest at the central trade hub ("Politics of Spice"), after which you can take Landsraad missions from your faction's envoy. This flow comes from community guides and may change with patches.
Do I get rewards playing solo?
Yes. Rewards depend on your personal contribution, not your guild. You can reach all five tiers (700 to 14,000 Contribution) alone.
What do decrees do?
Server-wide weekly bonuses, from -25% crafting costs and -75% repair costs to +33% ranged damage or access to exclusive Mk5 and Mk6 vendors.
When does the Landsraad reset?
Weekly. A new term starts every week, and the decree runs until shortly before the weekly Deep Desert reset.
Does the Landsraad work in single-player?
Yes. Since Update 1.5 the single-player Landsraad simulates other guilds so the competition keeps running. Tuning options for solo play are in the single-player settings guide.
As of October 11, 2026 (Update 1.5, current Hotfix 1.5.3.7 from October 9, 2026). Mechanics and reward values come from the Funcom-linked community wiki awakening.wiki ("Landsraad" page, last edited October 8, 2026, with no note of its own on Update 1.5), the summary with twenty ranks and five mission categories from Funcom's announcement "The New Dune: Awakening Is Here" of September 17, 2026, the introduction with Update 1.3 from the awakening.wiki pages "Landsraad" and "Chapter 3", the single-player note from the Update 1.5 patch notes, and the unlock flow from community guides. Funcom can adjust values with any patch. More guides on the Dune Awakening hub.
