Conan Exiles Rocknose Farming 2026: Every Type, Its Loot and the Bosses

If you want to farm a Conan Exiles Rocknose, you don't just need any Rocknose, you need the right type. Each variant gives a different material when you harvest it, from Brimstone to Crystal to Obsidian. This guide lists every Rocknose type with its loot according to the Enhanced database conanexiles.gaming.tools, plus the four Rocknose bosses and the rare Demonic Rocknose.

โš’๏ธ Why Rocknose farming pays off

Rocknoses are walking ore deposits. Instead of mining a vein, you kill the creature and harvest the corpse with a pick, a multitool or sorcery. For some materials that is the more comfortable route, for example Crystal, Black Ice or Obsidian.

Keep the difference between base loot and bonus drops in mind. The database lists materials you get on every harvest and others that only drop with a certain chance. The percentages in this guide are those chances per harvest.

The database also lists a Moss Rocknose with the same loot as the regular Rocknose, but without recorded spawn points. It doesn't matter for targeted farming.

๐Ÿง‚ Brimstone and Crystal: the Shattered Springs

For Brimstone and Crystal, the sulfur springs area called the Shattered Springs in the Exiled Lands is the first place to go. According to the Gamer Guides database, both types live there: Brimstone Rocknoses all over the area, Crystal Rocknoses mainly in the center and east of the springs.

The Crystal Rocknose is the more interesting catch. With only nine spawn points in the Exiled Lands it is rare, but it gives Crystal on every harvest plus a 35 percent chance for more. How to turn Brimstone into Steelfire and Dragonpowder is covered in the Brimstone guide and the Dragonpowder guide.

โ„๏ธ Ice and Black Ice in the north

Ice and Black Ice Rocknoses live in the snow biome of the Exiled Lands. According to Gamer Guides, you find the Black Ice Rocknose north and northeast of Eyelet Lake or southeast of the Ruins of Xullan. The database records only six spawn points.

For Black Ice, the Black Ice Rocknose is clearly the better type: a 35 percent chance per harvest compared to just 5 percent for the regular Ice Rocknose. You need Black Ice for Hardened Steel and Star Metal Bars. All other sources are in the Black Ice guide. Pack warm clothes, or the cold will wear you down fast.

โ›๏ธ Iron and Coal

According to the database, Iron and Coal Rocknoses live on both maps. The Iron Rocknose is widespread, with 45 spawn points in the Exiled Lands and 39 on the Isle of Siptah. Gamer Guides places it at Godsclaw Passage on Siptah and the Coal Rocknose in the desert biome of the Exiled Lands.

Both are mostly worth taking along on the way. You get Ironstone and Coal from regular ore veins in large amounts anyway. For steel, though, every extra Ironstone helps, as the amounts in our steel guide show.

๐ŸŒ‹ The Obsidian Rocknose in the volcano

According to Gamer Guides, the Obsidian Rocknose lives in the volcano biome of the Exiled Lands; the database lists twelve spawn points. It gives Obsidian on every harvest, plus a 35 percent chance for more Obsidian and 10 percent for Raw Ash.

If you head into the crater for Obsidian anyway, grab it on the way. Heat protection is a must there. What to do with the volcanic glass afterwards is in the Obsidian guide.

๐Ÿฅˆ Silver and Gold: wild Rocknoses and stable companions

Two different things get mixed up here. The wild types are the Silver Rocknose and the Golden Rocknose. With three and four spawn points in the Exiled Lands, they are very rare.

Separately, the database lists the companions Silver-vein Rocknose and Gold-vein Rocknose. They belong to the Yamatai Pets knowledge and work as a catalyst in the Stables: there, 1 Stone turns into Silverstone or Goldstone in 20 minutes. That isn't fast, but it is a steady supply right at your base.

๐Ÿฉธ The Demonic Rocknose: the elite enemy

The Demonic Rocknose is a rare elite enemy. The database lists four spawn points in the Exiled Lands and six on the Isle of Siptah. It gives no spawn chance.

The loot is broad in return: Stone and Demon Blood, plus chances for Coal and Crystal (30% each), Ironstone (25%), Brimstone, Silverstone, Goldstone and Oil (20% each), Alchemical Base (15%) and Ichor (10%). At 1 percent each there are also Glowing Essence, Shadebloom, Steelfire, potions and advanced repair kits.

๐Ÿ‘‘ The Rocknose bosses

All four bosses are in the database. The number in brackets is the number of spawn points.

BossSpawn pointsLoot according to the database
Living MagmaExiled Lands (9)Stone, Crystal 20%, Brimstone 20%, Demon Blood 20%, Raw Ash 10%, King Rocknose Head
Living MountainExiled Lands (3), Isle of Siptah (4)Stone, Coal 10%, Ironstone 5%, Rocknose Head 10%
Living Mountain, moss variantIsle of Siptah (5)Stone, Demon Blood 40%, Crystal 20%, Brimstone 20%, King Rocknose Head
AvalancheExiled Lands (10)Stone, Ice, Black Ice 10%
RockslideIsle of Siptah (4), Exiled Lands (1)Stone, Ironstone, Crystal 35%, Skeleton Key 50%, King Rocknose Head

The most interesting boss is Rockslide. When you harvest it, it gives a Skeleton Key with a 50 percent chance, and its loot table also includes Hardened Steel weapons and Gold and Silver Bars. It spawns mostly on the Isle of Siptah.

Living Magma and the moss variant of the Living Mountain are good sources of Demon Blood and the King Rocknose Head. Avalanche mainly gives Ice, with Black Ice only at a 10 percent chance.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips for efficient Rocknose farming

  • Always harvest the corpse: almost all materials come from the harvest, not from a loot chest. If you only kill, you throw away the yield.
  • Use better tools: the database lists higher harvest amounts per tool tier. A steel pick or better gives more than a stone pick.
  • Pick the right area: most special types only live in one biome. If you want Crystal, go to the Shattered Springs, not the north.
  • Don't fight the bosses alone: Rockslide, Living Magma and the rest take far more punishment than regular Rocknoses. A follower or thrall helps.
  • Combine routes: in the Shattered Springs you can take Brimstone and Crystal Rocknoses in a single pass.
