SpaceCraft Solo and Offline 2026: The Offline Mode Explained

SpaceCraft Solo and Offline 2026: The Offline Mode Explained

Want to play SpaceCraft solo? There are two ways: alone in the shared online universe, since Community Update #1 also with your own solo corporation, or entirely in the solo offline mode with its own save, but without Nexus trading and rankings.

SpaceCraft is really an online game with a persistent universe. Since June 26, 2026 there's also a solo offline mode, just over two weeks after the Early Access launch. This guide explains what the mode can do, what it lacks, what Major Update #1 changed and whether solo works better online or offline.

๐Ÿ†• The SpaceCraft solo offline mode

Shiro Games added the offline mode as one of the most requested features. You start it via Options โ†’ Change Region โ†’ Offline Mode.

Important: it's completely separate from the online part. According to Shiro Games, progress can't currently be transferred between the modes. So your offline save has nothing to do with your online progress.

๐Ÿ”Œ What the offline mode lacks

Because the server-bound systems drop out, the announcement says these are disabled offline:

  • Nexus trading: the player market (see make money) doesn't exist offline.
  • Corporation rankings (see the corporations guide).
  • Other systems tied to multiplayer.

Offline, every resource and every decision goes into your own industrial empire, without trading with other players.

โš™๏ธ Solo balance: launch and Major Update #1

At launch on June 26, 2026, Shiro adjusted the offline balance:

  • Shorter Assembler crafting times in space bases.
  • Higher Extractor speed in space bases.
  • Production paused when you quit the game and resumed on load.

Major Update #1 on October 8, 2026 reworked solo mode: according to the patch notes, a new catch-up system now gives it the same progression rates as multiplayer. When you log back in, the game simulates your absence and applies all gains and losses that happened. The patch notes don't say explicitly whether the earlier speed bonuses still apply alongside it.

๐ŸŒ Solo online vs. offline: the difference

"Solo" in SpaceCraft comes in two flavors that are easy to mix up:

  • Solo in the online universe: you play alone, but in the shared, persistent universe with other players, the Trade Nexus and market prices. Since Community Update #1 on September 16, 2026, there are solo corporations with their own leaderboard and a simplified interface. You can later convert a solo corporation into one with several members.
  • Solo offline: your own save, no other players, no Nexus and no rankings. Ideal for building and automating without MMO pressure.

๐Ÿงญ Which one suits you?

Offline is the right choice if you want a Satisfactory or Factorio feel, want to automate in peace and don't like being forced online. Keep in mind, though: offline progress stays in offline mode.

Online pays off if trading, corporations and big joint projects appeal to you. With a solo corporation you can still play alone there and use corporation licenses. Either way, SpaceCraft stays a builder that takes a long breath.

๐Ÿ’ก Tips for playing SpaceCraft solo online

If you're on your own in the online universe, the latest updates help you most:

  • Traveling merchants: since Major Update #1 you'll meet traveling merchants in star systems selling ores, ingots, components, ship modules, hulls and electronics. According to Shiro Games, their stock and credit supply are per player, so you don't compete with anyone.
  • Buy orders at the Trade Nexus: also since Major Update #1, you can set item, amount and price and have other players deliver. That saves flights when you're short on time alone.
  • Extractor Pods: with the Remote Extraction 1 permit (10,000 credits) you mine deposits outside your base while you're busy elsewhere.
  • Workstations keep running: since Community Update #1, the Workshop and Smelter keep working when you leave the station, and the queue handles up to 10 minutes of orders.

For your first steps, our guide to the starting debt and first quests helps. If you later want teammates after all, since Community Update #1 you can find them through the corporations' recruitment board.
