SpaceCraft corporations are the game's group system; Shiro Games itself compares them to guilds in classic MMOs. You can run a corporation with other players or, since Community Update #1, alone as a solo corporation. This guide shows how to unlock the corporation menu, what corporation requests bring and what licenses and corpo permits are good for.
It's based on the official developer blogs and patch notes on Steam and the spacecraft.tools game database (v0.5.25674 of October 13, 2026). Quest names are given as spacecraft.tools lists them.
๐ช How to unlock the corporation menu
Corporations aren't a starting feature. According to spacecraft.tools, the quest chain starts with "Corpo Opportunities". It requires the base quest "Space Base 103" and "Technology LV1", so you need a running base already. After that it goes like this:
- Corpo Opportunities: you meet a contact at a station and learn from the quest text that corporations offer contracts and extra income.
- Cognitive and Physical Assessment: an on-site test gets you the Novitiate rank. Only then does the corporation menu unlock on your computer. Don't enter the test designers' offices during the test: according to the quest data, that costs you 100 credits of extra debt.
- Join a Corpo: you found your own corporation or join an existing one.
- First Corpo Request: at Terminus station you accept your first request and deliver the materials.
- Wholesale Request: after that, the quest text says you can also accept wholesale requests.
๐ฅ Join or found your own
Since Community Update #1 on September 16, 2026, there's a recruitment board. According to the developer preview, you open it in the corporation menu with "P" by default. Corporations present themselves there with a description and emblem, and you can compare member lists, ship levels and descriptions before applying.
Other features from the update: even existing members can receive invitations from other corporations. Players and corporations can be viewed straight from the leaderboard and board. Private messages (whispers) are possible, but only with players in the same quadrant. Members of your corporation show up on the map along with their bases.
๐ง Solo corporations: alone, but not at a disadvantage
Shiro Games introduced the solo corporation with Community Update #1. It has a simplified interface with only the info you need on your own, and its own leaderboard. So solo and multiplayer corporations are ranked separately.
Important for later: a solo corporation can be converted into a multiplayer corporation. According to the developers, there's no way back. Shiro Games doesn't name a fixed size cap for solo players. On the contrary: back in the "Feature Focus 2" blog of January 2026 it said that solo players use the same mechanics, they just have to work harder for them.
In offline mode, corporation leaderboards and Trade Nexus trading are missing. Details in the guide to playing SpaceCraft solo.
๐ Corporation requests: what they pay
Corporation requests are delivery contracts from NPC companies at the stations. You deliver large amounts of a material or component, in as many trips as needed. The reward isn't regular credits but, according to "Feature Focus 2" and the game data, a mix of three corporation currencies:
- Corpo Credits: spent on corpo permits.
- License Points: unlock licenses with permanent bonuses.
- Reputation: decides your place on the corporation leaderboard.
spacecraft.tools lists requests in weekly cycles by station and level 1 to 5. Clients are companies like Stellar Engineering, Eris Corp., Ninmah Group and The Republic at stations like Helicon, Horizon, Justice, Cairn and Threshold. The list comes from player submissions and applies to one quadrant at a time.
An example from cycle 21 (Lunotalt quadrant, Europe): a level 1 request in Helicon for 300 each of Iron, Copper and Aluminum Ingots paid 3,510 corpo credits and 10 license points. Level 5 requests were above 100,000 corpo credits. If you don't deliver in time, you lose the goods already handed in, according to the developer blog. Accepted requests can be cancelled since patch v0.3.22866.
๐๏ธ Licenses and corpo permits
With the corporation currencies you build up your corporation. The licenses according to spacecraft.tools:
| License | Effect |
|---|---|
| Corporate Culture | Corpo permits tab and the "Permit Management" right |
| Corporate HQ | +1 base and the "Base Management" right |
| Corporate Ship | +1 ship |
| Fundraising | Credit pooling and the "Credit Gift" right |
| Industrial Centers | +50 footprint capacity |
| Market Presence | Station storage plus rights to manage and use it |
Corpo permits cost corpo credits and come in tiers: Base Capacity (more bases), Fleet Capacity (more ships), Request Credits and Request Reputation (+5 % each per tier), Request Space (more simultaneous requests), License Propaganda and Station Storage. According to "Feature Focus 2", corpo permits have daily upkeep costs. Without steady income you'll have to give permits up again.
A fix from Community Update #1 shows this is meant seriously: bases over the limit are deactivated and ships can't be boarded until the permits are bought again.
๐ฐ Shared money and rights
According to the developer blog, corpo credits can be distributed to members. Members can convert regular credits into corpo credits and donate them to the corporation. That way a corporation can share profits freely or collect contributions from its members.
Leadership hands out roles, each with its own rights: from managing bases and ships to activating corpo permits to inviting and removing members. Shiro Games doesn't name fixed ranks like Recruit or Officer. Since Community Update #1, credit transfers show up in the corporation log, and since Major Update #1, Trade Nexus deals do too.
๐๏ธ Corporation bases and ships
Corporations can own shared bases and ships that don't belong to any single member. According to "Feature Focus 2", the maximum was 12 bases and 12 ships, on top of members' personal builds. The number doesn't depend on member count but on licenses and corpo permits.
For a bigger base there's the Corporation Command Center. According to its building description, it raises the maximum size of a single corporation base and contains crafting machines and a conference room. To make it buildable at all, patch v0.4.24600 raised the minimum SU limit for players from 25,000 to 35,000. More on your first own base in the first base guide.
๐ Who brings what: Exploration, Technology, Science
In the "Feature Focus 2" blog, Shiro Games describes how the three experience paths help a corporation. Experienced explorers take other members further into the galaxy and to rarer resources. Technologists build bigger bases with more automation and carry the deliveries for requests. Scientists make the exotic materials and alloys everyone else needs.
The developers' advice: members should specialize, because leveling every path takes time. Since Community Update #1, Social experience is split according to each player's actual contribution. If you want to rename your corporation, it costs more the higher its level.
๐ฆ Trading through SpaceCraft corporations
Goods bought at the Trade Nexus land in the corporation storage at that station. With the Nexus Relay from Major Update #1 (Remote Access permit), you reach both Trade Nexus locations, Helicon and Ur, from your base too. You can only sell there what's already in the corporation storage. Sell orders expire after 14 days, and also when you leave the corporation. How trading pays off is in the Trade Nexus guide and the make money guide.
