SpaceCraft Make Money Guide (2026) โ€“ Trading, Market and Best Credit Methods

To make money in SpaceCraft, sell processed goods and ship parts instead of raw ore, work through Mining Bureau assignments and use the Trade Nexus. Corpo Requests pay in a separate currency, Corpo Credits.

This guide shows what demonstrably works, what Major Update #1 (October 8, 2026) changed about trading, and what you can skip.

๐Ÿ’ฐ How the SpaceCraft Market Works

Shiro Games describes the economy on the Steam store page like this: every transaction on the marketplace affects prices. Selling pushes supply, buying pushes demand.

You trade in two places. The Trade Nexus is the player market with listings from other players, split by quadrant. There are also NPC traders at the stations, such as the Company Exchanger that the intro quest "OP#05: Trading" shows you. Since Community Update #1 (September 16, 2026) it sits in the patch installation kiosk.

Since patch v0.3.22866 (July 21, 2026), the purchase tax in the Trade Nexus is 8% (down from 20%).

๐Ÿ“Š What Sells on the Market

The Trade Nexus has five categories: resources, consumables, components, ship parts and blueprints. Average prices in the Lunotalt (EU) quadrant on spacecraft.tools on October 2, 2026 show the range:

  • Resources and ingots: Sulfur 0.7, Steel Ingot 13, Platinum Ingot 13.8 credits.
  • Components: Metal Sheet 3, Graphene 45, Hydraulic Actuator 1,200 credits.
  • Ship parts: Cargo Hold 1,500, Medium Radiator 15,000, BESS Module 30,000 credits.
  • Blueprints: "Blueprint: BESS Module" between 50,000 and 150,000 credits.

These are prices per unit and a snapshot. Your margin depends on what raw materials and crafting cost you.

๐Ÿ“ˆ How to Make Money in SpaceCraft by Game Phase

  • Early game: Do the intro and Mining Bureau quests, such as "MB#01: Integration Protocol". You can sell resources and ingots directly. Our SpaceCraft credits guide explains the starting debt and first quests.
  • Mid game: Set up automated production and sell components and ship parts. They're worth many times more per unit than raw resources.
  • Late game: Blueprints for modules and patches are among the most expensive listings in the Trade Nexus, which has its own category for them.

๐Ÿ”„ Trading: Use Price Gaps

The Trade Nexus is split by quadrant, and the same item doesn't cost the same everywhere. Platinum Ingots, for example, ranged from 12.06 to 16.37 credits at the time of checking. Buy where it's cheap and sell where it's expensive.

Is it worth it? Only when the price gap is bigger than the 8% purchase tax, and flight time and fuel come on top.

From the community (not officially confirmed): Players on the Steam forum report a daily sell limit of 1,000 credits at NPC traders. The patch notes don't mention it.

๐Ÿ›’ New Since Major Update #1: Buy Orders and Traveling Merchants

Major Update #1 (October 8, 2026) added Buy Orders to the Trade Nexus. You set the item, amount and price, other players deliver, and you decide whether partial fulfillment is allowed. You can also fill other players' Buy Orders to sell on demand.

It also added traveling merchants in six types: ores, ingots, components, ship modules, ship hulls and electronics. According to Shiro Games, they look for specific materials and pay well for them, but have a limited supply of credits and goods, unique to each player. With the Remote Access permit (2,000 credits) you can build a Nexus Relay and use the Trade Nexus remotely.

๐Ÿข Corpo Requests and Wholesale Requests

You take on Corpo Requests from an NPC contact at a station. The first quest for them sends you to Terminus station. You deliver materials and get Corpo Credits, Reputation or License Points, but no regular credits.

Requests rotate weekly and come in tiers 1 to 5. A tier 5 request from Eris Corp. in Horizon paid 118,500 Corpo Credits and 800 Reputation for 1,000 Drones at the time of checking, according to spacecraft.tools. You spend Corpo Credits on licenses for your corporation, such as "Corporate HQ" for an extra base.

Wholesale Requests are a separate quest line that follows your first Corpo Request. Since v0.3.22866 you can also cancel requests you've accepted.

โš ๏ธ The Most Common Money Mistakes in SpaceCraft

  • Ignoring traveling merchants. They often pay more than the market for the materials they want, but their credit supply is limited.
  • Selling only raw resources. Sulfur brings 0.7 credits per unit, a Hydraulic Actuator 1,200. Processing means more value per trip.
  • Forgetting the purchase tax. Every purchase in the Trade Nexus costs 8% extra. Factor it into every resale.
  • Mixing up Corpo Credits and credits. Corpo Requests don't fill your regular account, they pay the corpo currency for licenses.
  • Badly designed ships. Since v0.3.22866 the ship editor warns about weak designs and shows top speed and acceleration time. More in our SpaceCraft ship building guide.

๐Ÿงญ Roadmap to Your First Fortune

The order: understand the starting debt and first quests โ†’ find good resources โ†’ automate production โ†’ sell components and ship parts โ†’ use Corpo Requests for licenses. The trader quests "MK#01" to "MK#05" reward you along the way for sales from 1,000 up to 10 million credits.
