Since Preludes 15 โGods and Ghostsโ (June 10, 2026), Soulframe has real player-to-player trading. With Soulframe trading you swap weapons, armor, talismans, Joineries and materials at enclaves and World Trees. You need EnvoyGuard (2FA) turned on, every item you receive costs a fee in Dracs, and your number of trades per day depends on your Envoy rank.
This guide shows how a trade works, what you can trade, what it costs and what to watch out for security-wise. The current game version is Preludes 16.
๐ค Soulframe trading: player trading since Preludes 15
Digital Extremes officially announced the feature as Envoys being able to help each other โwith the arrival of gear trading and in-game mail featuresโ. Press coverage from MMORPG.com and MMOHuts describes it as a long-requested community feature.
Trading arrived together with the new loot system: since Preludes 15 weapons drop fully forged, so more individual gear is in circulation. If you don't have an overview of the systems yet, start with the beginner guide.
๐ How to start a trade
According to the community-run wiki at wiki.avakot.org, a trade works like this:
- Both Envoys meet at a meeting point, per the patch notes an enclave or a World Tree.
- One player picks the โTradeโ emote from the emote wheel. Their Envoy then raises their right arm.
- The other player interacts with them (default key F) to open the trade window.
- Both place items in the window, review the trade and confirm.
World Trees have served as multiplayer meeting points since Preludes 14.5, where you can see other Envoys. How to unlock them is in the World Trees guide.
๐ฆ What can you trade in Soulframe?
| Category | Details per Avakot |
|---|---|
| Tradeable | crafted or dropped weapons, crafted armor and talismans, Joineries, Enchantments, various materials |
| Not tradeable | fragments, Arcs and Founders items (โnot yetโ per the wiki), unique items the recipient already owns, such as the Duelo Ribbon |
| Weapon rank | a traded weapon takes the rank the recipient already has on the same weapon |
| Trades per day | Envoy rank + 1, so one trade for new players |
| Requirement | EnvoyGuard (two-factor authentication) active |
An example from the wiki on weapon rank: if you receive a Vetch at rank 30 but already own a Vetch at rank 5, the new weapon also lands at rank 5.
๐ฐ Scutage: what Soulframe trading costs
Every trade costs a fee called Scutage, paid in Dracs. Each player pays it for the items they receive, per item and by rarity:
| Rarity | Scutage per item | Example per Avakot |
|---|---|---|
| Common | 220 Dracs | 20 Whisprig cost 4,400 Dracs |
| Uncommon | 440 Dracs | 1 Glow Lampyrite and 2 Gossamer Quartz cost 1,320 Dracs |
| Rare | 880 Dracs | one Avex and one Rhapsodic Chordstone cost 1,760 Dracs |
At the launch of Preludes 15, Scutage was ten times higher according to Avakot. Hotfix 14 for Preludes 15 cut it by 90 percent. Large amounts of materials still get expensive quickly, because every single item counts.
๐ EnvoyGuard: the security requirement
Digital Extremes ties trading to a security condition: you need two-factor authentication through EnvoyGuard turned on first. MMORPG.com and MMOHuts quote the patch notes almost word for word here. According to Avakot, the game prompts you to activate EnvoyGuard on your first trade attempt if it is still off.
โ๏ธ Mailbox: in-game mail
Besides direct trading, Preludes 15 introduced an in-game mailbox, called โMailboxโ in the official Devstream 15 overview. According to coverage it lets you send items and messages across Alca, even when you are not standing in the same place. Digital Extremes has not published delivery times or storage limits.
๐ก Safety checklist for Soulframe trading
- Turn on EnvoyGuard first: without 2FA no trade starts, and your account is better protected anyway.
- Only use the official trade window: trade exclusively through the in-game trade feature.
- Budget for Scutage: keep enough Dracs on hand, or the trade fails on the fee.
- Be careful with offers outside the game: real money for in-game items generally breaks the terms of service and carries a high risk of scams.
- Check before confirming: look closely at the final trade in the confirmation dialog, especially with rare gear.
