Soulframe Joineries Explained: Reforge Weapons and Use the Colored Bottles
“I keep getting these colored bottles. What are they for?” Almost every new player asks this, and the game barely explains it. Short answer: they are Soulframe Joineries, and you use them to reforge your weapons and add new attunement. This guide walks through the whole system, checked against Preludes 16 with Hotfix 6.
❓ What are Soulframe Joineries?
Soulframe Joineries are special crafting materials that let you reforge a weapon and change its properties. They are exactly those colorful bottles you keep pulling out of big chests and dungeons. So they are not vendor trash but valuable material. Just hoard them until you unlock reforging.
Every weapon in Soulframe scales with one or more Virtues: Courage, Spirit and Grace. According to the community-run wiki at wiki.avakot.org, a Joinery adds 1 to 3 attunement pips in one of those Virtues, even one the weapon did not scale with before. That is why they matter for every build.
⚒️ How reforging works
Reforging happens at the smith Tuvalkane, one of the Ancestors. You unlock her through the quest “The Steelsinger”, and reforging itself opens once you reach Bond rank 2 with her.
- Bring a weapon you own and a matching Joinery.
- Open the reforge tab in Tuvalkane's crafting menu and pick the Joinery for the weapon.
- Confirm. According to Avakot the extra pips apply instantly, with no crafting time.
Two things you need to know:
- Reforging costs materials. Per Avakot you pay roughly the same materials and Dracs as the original craft, plus the Joinery itself.
- One Joinery per weapon. A new one replaces the old one, and the old Joinery is lost.
💡 Outdated tip: Reforging with a Twice or Thrice Blessed Joinery used to reset the weapon to rank 0, so the rule was “reforge first, level later”. According to Avakot that no longer applies since Hotfix 5 for Preludes 14. You can reforge a fully leveled weapon.
🎨 The four Soulframe Joineries types and their blessing tiers
There are four Joinery types. The type decides which weapons it fits, the blessing tier decides how many pips it adds. According to Avakot (October 2026):
| Type | Fits | Existing tiers |
|---|---|---|
| Gildaur | all weapons | Blessed, Thrice Blessed |
| Feybalt | Magick weapons | Blessed, Twice Blessed, Thrice Blessed |
| Verite | melee weapons | Blessed, Twice Blessed |
| Quicksilver | bows and Flyblades | Blessed, Twice Blessed, Thrice Blessed |
Higher blessing means more pips. For 3 pips you need a Thrice Blessed Joinery, the highest rarity. A weapon caps at 5 pips per Virtue, and a Joinery can't push it past that. Older guides still list tiers like Rusted, Tempered and Polished, but they don't appear in Avakot's current Joinery list. The pre-Preludes 14 Joinery effects such as bonus damage or lifesteal no longer exist, according to Avakot.
✨ Which Virtue? The deity decides
Each Joinery is also dedicated to a deity, for example “Thrice Blessed by Mora”. According to Avakot that deity decides which Virtue receives the extra attunement pips:
| Blessed Joinery | Attunement (Virtue) | Tooltip symbol |
|---|---|---|
| Blessed by Mora | Courage | 🔴 red flame star |
| Blessed by Iridis | Spirit | 🟢 green crescent |
| Blessed by Saphene | Grace | 🔵 blue star |
That way you can give a Courage weapon extra Spirit scaling to match your build. Important: attunement only adds damage once your Virtue value meets the weapon's Virtue requirement. Below that you get no bonus at all, and the symbols stay grey. More in the Virtues guide.
📦 Where to get Soulframe Joineries
- Enemies: per Avakot's drop tables mainly bosses and Agari, such as Nimrod, Gruulseeker Selvins, The Mendicant King, Vadagar Stag and Vadagar Bear. Which Joinery drops where differs by type.
- Chests: depending on the type, from specific chests. Avakot lists Quicksilver from chests in the Glades of Andurin and Verite from Basic Chests in Midrath.
- Faction vendors: Thrice Blessed variants are sold by Alca's Children (Iridis), Kith of Kings (Mora) and Silent Rose (Saphene) from faction rank 4 or 5, according to Avakot.
- Note: Older guides list fixed Joinery drops per region from the Bannerets. We could not confirm that in Avakot's current drop tables.
🧭 Tuvalkane vs. Verminia: don't mix them up
Two Ancestors get confused all the time in the community. To be clear:
- Tuvalkane is the smith. She crafts, upgrades and reforges weapons, so this is where Joineries go.
- Verminia is the witch, the “Brewer of Hues”. She handles dyes, transmog and elixirs and has nothing to do with weapon stats. She is, however, your contact for the Cogah, Soulframe's hard mode.
If you want to put new properties on a weapon, Tuvalkane is your stop, not Verminia.
💬 Soulframe Joineries FAQ
Should I sell Joineries?
No. Every blessing tier adds at least one pip when you reforge. Hold on to them until you unlock reforging at Tuvalkane.
Do I lose progress when I reforge?
No. According to Avakot, reforging no longer resets the weapon to rank 0 since Hotfix 5 for Preludes 14. You only lose a previously slotted Joinery when you replace it.
What is the difference between Blessed, Twice Blessed and Thrice Blessed?
The blessing tier decides how many attunement pips the Joinery adds, 1 to 3 per Avakot. For 3 pips you need Thrice Blessed. The deity (Mora, Iridis or Saphene) decides the Virtue.
Why does my new attunement add no damage?
Your Virtue value has to meet the weapon's Virtue requirement. Below that the symbols stay grey and there is no bonus.
Which NPC reforges weapons?
Always the smith Tuvalkane, unlocked through “The Steelsinger” and Bond rank 2. Verminia handles cosmetics and elixirs.
🏁 Verdict
Those colored bottles are not clutter but the key to your gear. With Soulframe Joineries you give a weapon extra attunement pips in the Virtue that fits your build. Watch the type for your weapon and the blessing tier, and forget the old “reforge first, level later” rule, which hasn't been needed since Hotfix 5 for Preludes 14. Once you have the right attunement, the Tempers guide covers the next layer of weapon bonuses.
Checked against Preludes 16 “Of Hook and Hound” with Hotfix 6 as of October 2026. Joinery types, tiers, pips, costs, drop sources and the removed rank reset come from the community-run wiki at wiki.avakot.org (pages “Joineries”, “Crafting”, “Gildaur”, “Feybalt”, “Verite”, “Quicksilver”). There is no official Soulframe wiki.
According to the official Preludes 16 patch notes, “Refine” at Tuvalkane is now called “Enhance Craftwork”, and Tempers can be transferred onto weapons there. Soulframe is still in its Preludes phase, so the system, values and drops can change with future updates.
