Planet Crafter Skeo Inventory 2026: What Actually Survives the Flight

Planet Crafter Skeo Inventory 2026: What Actually Survives the Flight

Your Planet Crafter Skeo inventory isn't guaranteed to survive the trip. One player reports losing about 60 percent on the flight to the new moon, another arrived with a full backpack. Both are community reports from the Steam discussions. Miju Games still hasn't given an official loss rate.

Since September 1, 2026, Skeo has been live in the regular game with the free update v2.102, on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and GOG. Whether the inventory loss still happens in that live version isn't documented. So pack light and back up your save before you go.

๐Ÿš€ How You Reach Skeo in the First Place

Skeo isn't a starting point or a side trip you take early. The official release announcement from September 1, 2026 spells out the route: you fully terraform a starting world (Prime, Toxicity, Humble or Selenea) and then build the Extraction platform and the Interplanetary travel rocket.

That's the endgame rocket, which according to the community wiki unlocks automatically at 4.15 TTi. It's not the small Trade space rocket you use to swap resources.

So you need a finished terraforming run before Skeo even shows up. If your index is stuck, our Planet Crafter terraformation stages guide helps more than a packing list. How the worlds connect is covered in our overview of all Planet Crafter planets.

Worth knowing: the development branch is history. Until August 31, 2026, Skeo was only available on the Steam test branch. Since September 1, the moon is part of the regular game and on consoles.

Miju Games says the update is compatible with existing saves and recommends restarting Steam and removing mods if you run into problems. In co-op, everyone still needs the same version, and according to the developer there's no crossplay: you only play within the same console family, and Steam players can't play with console players.

๐ŸŽ’ Planet Crafter Skeo Inventory: What Players Lost on the Flight

The data is thin and contradictory, and that's part of the honest picture. In the Steam thread "Trying out Skeo from 0%?", one player writes that the game took 60 percent of his inventory, including four of five Pulsar Quartz, all of his Super Alloy and one of two fully upgraded rovers. A second player in the same thread reports the opposite: he got to keep his inventory.

There's no official developer statement on a fixed loss rate. The 60 percent is a community report from a single run on the test branch, not a documented value, and for the live version from September 1, 2026 it's neither confirmed nor ruled out.

Whether a bug, a balancing test or the interaction between rocket capacity and backpack contents is behind it is also unclear. One thing still follows from it: the flight isn't guaranteed to be loss-free. Assume that anything you don't have twice can be gone, and check your inventory right after landing.

๐Ÿ“ฆ What Comes With You and What Doesn't

One point is consistent across all threads: unlocked blueprints apply to your whole save, no matter which world you're on. Whatever you've unlocked with a microchip, you can build on Skeo, as long as you bring the materials. How to get those unlocks is covered in our Planet Crafter microchips guide.

Physical items, on the other hand, only travel inside the rocket. One player puts the Interplanetary travel rocket's cargo inventory at 4 ร— 5, so 20 slots. That's also a community figure, not a developer statement. And the flight is practically a one-way street: the game saves on arrival, as players write in the thread about the best travel tips. Without your own backup, there's no going back to reload.

Players from the test branch paint a sparse picture of the resources: ice only at the landing site, hardly anything minable apart from amber, no aluminum. Those are community reports from the preview build too. Miju Games kept reworking Skeo until release, so the resource situation hasn't been checked for the live version. Where to dig amber there is in our guide to amber on Skeo.

๐ŸŒ‘ The Packing List for the Skeo Flight

This list sums up recommendations from experienced players in the Steam discussions. The idea: bring finished parts instead of raw materials, because one component bundles several materials into a single slot.

What to bringWhy it's worth itNote
Nuclear Fusion generator or fusion energy cellsPower from minute one without fiddling with solarCells bundle several raw materials per slot
T5 DrillStarts your pressure and heat chain right awayOnly 3 slots, according to a player report
Upgraded roverMobility and extra storage on siteExactly the item one player lost
Drone station and T2 dronesAutomates your first loopsPlayers say rods give eight times as much per unit
Recycling machine or its partsNeeded to break down the finished parts you broughtWithout it, the compact-packing trick is worthless
T3 Tree Spreader and seedsOxygen as a requirement for beehivesEarly biomass base
T2 Beehive ingredientsBee larvae break down into mutagen and fertilizerVery slot-efficient
Living compartment, door, water collector, foodSurvival before production is runningBean seeds as a compact food source
Interplanetary exchange shuttleLifts the slot limit for goodPlayer figure: 25 items every 10 minutes
Pulsar Quartz and Super AlloyHard or impossible to get on siteKeep copies at home in case the loss hits

Since you're basically rebuilding from scratch on Skeo, a look at what makes good Planet Crafter base locations before takeoff is worth more than three extra chunks of ore in your bag.

โš ๏ธ Back Up Your Save Before You Launch

This is the most important part of this guide. Skeo hasn't been a preview build since September 1, 2026, but the game saves on arrival, and there are community reports of massive inventory loss. Under those conditions, a manual copy of your save isn't a precaution for the nervous. It's basic equipment.

Copy the entire save folder somewhere else before you launch the rocket. If the flight goes wrong or half your stuff is missing afterwards, restore the copy and pack differently. Without a backup the loss is permanent, because the autosave on arrival overwrites your pre-launch state. The exact folder path is in our Planet Crafter Skeo guide.

Second point: try the Skeo trip in a copy first instead of risking your main run. You take the knowledge of which slots are really worth it into the real run.

๐Ÿš€ Skeo Is an Endgame Goal, Not a Fresh-Start Moon

There's a persistent idea that Skeo is a kind of hardcore start from zero percent. The official changelog says otherwise: the moon is what comes after a finished terraformation. According to the release announcement, new additions include the Underground living compartment for underground bases, the T2 Incubator, the T3 Tree Spreader, the T2 Animals spreader rocket, more drone and oxygen rocket tiers, a new species with a matching spacesuit, the Brojo tree, an interior lamp and craftable Magnetar Quartz.

Treat Skeo as a fresh start and, according to community reports, you land on a moon with barely any mining spots. Arrive fully packed as the continuation of a finished run and you get a solid endgame expansion.

๐Ÿ’ก FAQ: Planet Crafter Skeo Inventory

Will I definitely lose items on the flight to Skeo?

No, nothing is definite. One player reports about 60 percent loss, another says he kept his whole inventory. Both are community reports from the Steam discussions during the test phase. There's no official statement on a fixed loss rate, not for the live version either. Plan as if it could happen.

How many slots does the Interplanetary travel rocket have?

One player says 4 ร— 5, so 20 slots. That number comes from a forum post, not from official patch notes. Treat it as a community figure and a rough guide, not a hard rule.

Do I keep my blueprints?

According to consistent player reports, yes: unlocks apply to your whole save, no matter which world you're on. You can still only build them if you bring the materials or find them on site.

Can I fly back from Skeo?

Players describe the flight as one-way because the game saves on arrival. With the Interplanetary exchange shuttle you can send goods between worlds later. A simple return flight isn't officially documented.

Should I fly to Skeo now?

Yes. Skeo has been fully released since September 1, 2026, free on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and GOG. Back up your save first anyway, because the game saves on arrival and community reports mention inventory loss.

As of October 8, 2026 (version v2.102). Officially documented: Skeo's launch on September 1, 2026 on Steam, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and GOG, access after fully terraforming a starting world plus the Extraction platform and the Interplanetary travel rocket, and the update contents, all from Miju Games' Steam announcement with the v2.102 changelog. The missing crossplay comes from the console release announcement from June 16, 2026.

The 4.15 TTi unlock value comes from the community wiki. Inventory loss, the 60 percent, the 20 rocket slots, shuttle throughput and the resource situation on Skeo are community reports from the Steam discussions during the July 2026 test phase: not confirmed by the developer, not checked for the live version and patchable at any time.
