- โ FAQ: Invaders from Beyond Locations
Invaders from Beyond ran from August 18 to September 1, 2026, and only started at the top of the hour. The event is over, and according to Nuka Knights no new dates have been announced. One run takes about 10 minutes. The Invaders from Beyond locations are six fixed spots in Appalachia the event rotates through: Wavy Willard's Water Park, Garrahan Mining Headquarters, Monongah, Charleston Capitol Building, Dyer Chemical and Sparse Sundew Grove. Log in at five past and you've missed the start and wait for the next hour.
That's where most players get stuck: they search the map for the event icon, find nothing and think the event is broken. It simply isn't active. This guide shows all six spots with their region, the exact start times and a server hopping routine that gets you more than one run per hour.
๐บ๏ธ Invaders from Beyond Locations: All 6 Spots on the Map
The alien mothership appears over exactly one of these six spots per server instance. You only see which one once the event is active and the icon shows up on the map. Both Fallout wikis list the same six:
| Location | Region | Orientation |
|---|---|---|
| Wavy Willard's Water Park | Toxic Valley | north of the map, open ground with pools |
| Garrahan Mining Headquarters | Ash Heap | south, right by the company grounds and Garrahan Estate |
| Monongah | Savage Divide | northwestern highlands, a town with narrow streets |
| Charleston Capitol Building | The Forest | southwest by the river, lots of open space in front of the building |
| Dyer Chemical | The Mire | east, industrial site with tanks and pipes |
| Sparse Sundew Grove | Cranberry Bog | southeast, a swampy clearing with no solid cover |
The practical difference: Monongah and Dyer Chemical have lots of buildings where aliens disappear behind walls. Charleston Capitol Building and Sparse Sundew Grove are open, so you clear the 30 kills per wave much faster, but you take more hits from the siphon pulses.
โฐ When Does Invaders from Beyond Start? The Hour Mark and 10 Minutes
Keep two time frames apart:
- The event window: Bethesda gave the start as Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at noon ET, and the end as Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at noon ET. That's 14 days.
- The event rhythm inside that window: the public event starts at the top of every hour and runs about 10 minutes.
| Moment | Eastern Time | UTC |
|---|---|---|
| Event start | Tue, Aug 18, 2026, 12:00 p.m. ET | 16:00 |
| Event end | Tue, Sept 1, 2026, 12:00 p.m. ET | 16:00 |
So on August 18 nothing ran before noon ET. The first regular run was at noon, the next at 1 p.m., and so on. The last run on September 1 started at 11 a.m. ET, because the event switched off at noon.
๐ How It Plays Out: 3 Waves, 30 Kills Each
Both wikis document the same structure, and it's identical at all six Invaders from Beyond locations. Each wave you kill 30 aliens or drones, then the commander appears, then the Brainwave Siphon's shield drops and you destroy it.
| Wave | Kill goal | Boss | Target | Extra danger |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 30 aliens | Lieutenant Kappa | Brainwave Siphon Kappa | energy pulses from the siphon |
| 2 | 30 aliens | Captain Alpha and Captain Omega | Brainwave Siphon Omega | marked rockets from the UFO |
| 3 | 30 aliens | General Zeta | Brainwave Siphon Zeta | Flatwoods Monsters with cryo and poison attacks |
Enemies include aliens, Alien Drones, Alien Invaders and Flatwoods Monsters. The rockets from wave 2 on are the most common cause of death in the event: they mark the ground and you have a moment to run out of the circle. Don't stay glued to the siphon in melee when a marker is under you.
Because aliens also replaced the normal enemies in Free Range, Line in the Sand and random encounters during the alien season, alien kill challenges progressed on the side even if you missed the event.
๐ฏ Server Hopping: More Than One Run per Hour
One run per hour is the floor, not the ceiling. Since every world runs its own event cycle and the spot is fixed per instance, a set routine pays off:
- Don't start a world switch after :50, or you'll be stuck loading when the event kicks off.
- Open the map right at the hour. If the event icon is there, travel right away. You have about 10 minutes, minus travel and loading.
- No icon? Switch worlds immediately and check the map again. A switch takes one to two minutes depending on hardware, so you realistically get two attempts per hour.
- Don't leave right after finishing. Community reports say a Bigfoot can show up as an uninvited guest after a successful event. Bethesda only confirms in its release notes for The Backwoods that Bigfoot can appear at the end of select public events and disappears if you take too long to kill it. Bethesda gives no percentage. Details are in our General Zeta and Bigfoot guide.
- Stay in the same team after switching. A full team speeds up the 30 kills per wave noticeably, and everyone gets the reward individually.
๐ฆ Guaranteed Rewards
The guaranteed reward per completed run, per the Fallout wiki:
| Reward | Amount |
|---|---|
| Experience | 500 XP |
| Caps | 100 |
| Legendary item | 1ร 1-star |
| Treasury Notes | 2 |
| Legendary currency | 3 (see note below) |
| Plan: Alien Souvenir Beer Stein | 1ร, if not learned yet |
โ ๏ธ Conflicting wiki entries: fallout.wiki lists โ3 Legendary Coresโ in the guaranteed reward, while fallout.fandom.com says โ3 Legendary Modules.โ Per fallout.wiki itself, Legendary Cores were removed from the game and converted 1:1 into Legendary Scrip. So the cores entry is outdated, and cores no longer drop as a reward. The modules entry is plausible but not officially confirmed. Check the reward screen yourself on your first run. What to do with legendary currency is in our Fallout 76 Legendary Modules guide.
๐ก What One Specific Plan Really Costs
The plan pool has about 19 plans across C.A.M.P., apparel and weapons, including the Alien Blaster, the Alien Disintegrator with receivers, Electro Enforcer mods, the Alien Couch, the Alien Stash Box, the Hazmat Suit in pink and teal, and the Zenith Alien Blaster paint. The Fallout wiki notes that the plans are tradeable and have an equal chance to drop, but gives no percentage.
The math from that: with 19 equally likely plans, a single one sits at about 5.26%. If one plan from this pool drops per run, you need about 19 runs on average for one specific plan. With two to three runs per hour through server hopping, that's about six to ten hours. That's derived from the pool size, not a drop rate confirmed by Bethesda. If you only want legendaries, our Fallout 76 legendary farming guide is more efficient.
The odds on the rare Fasnacht masks from General Zeta are covered in our Fasnacht masks drop chance guide. For gear, check the Fallout 76 best weapons and our power armor guide, because the cryo and poison attacks of the Flatwoods Monsters add up fast without armor.
โ FAQ: Invaders from Beyond Locations
Where does Invaders from Beyond spawn?
At one of six Invaders from Beyond locations: Wavy Willard's Water Park (Toxic Valley), Garrahan Mining Headquarters (Ash Heap), Monongah (Savage Divide), Charleston Capitol Building (The Forest), Dyer Chemical (The Mire) or Sparse Sundew Grove (Cranberry Bog). Each server gets exactly one.
When exactly did the event start on August 18, 2026?
At noon ET. After that, a run started at the top of every hour.
How long does a run take?
About 10 minutes. If you arrive more than about five minutes after the start, you usually won't make it through the third wave.
Why don't I see the event on the map?
Because it doesn't run between the hours. Check the map right at the hour. If no icon shows up, switch worlds and look again.
Can I finish the event solo?
90 alien kills plus three boss fights in 10 minutes is very tight solo. In a team it finishes much more reliably, and every participant gets the reward individually.
Does the event continue after September 1?
No. Invaders from Beyond is a limited-time season event and ended on September 1, 2026, at noon ET. According to Nuka Knights, no new dates have been announced.
Everything in this guide was checked against the community-run fallout.wiki, fallout.fandom.com and the official release notes on fallout.bethesda.net as of August 2026; there is no official Fallout 76 wiki. The dates come from the official Fallout account announcement. The server hopping routine and the Bigfoot note are community practice and not confirmed by Bethesda. The event end and the lack of new dates were added in October 2026 based on the Nuka Knights event page.
