Fallout 76 General Zeta 4-Star Mods 2026, and Why You Should Stay After the Event

Fallout 76 General Zeta 4-Star Mods 2026, and Why You Should Stay After the Event

General Zeta, the final boss of Invaders from Beyond, is a 3-star legendary according to current community data, so General Zeta 4-star mods aren't confirmed. Nuka Knights listed him as a 4-star enemy for a while, but corrected that to 3 stars in its event database on August 19, 2026. The 4-star chance in the event comes from Bigfoot: according to Nuka Knights he appears in about 33% of cases only after a successful event, and Bethesda ties the 4-star mod Thrill-Seeker's to him. That leads to the key advice of this guide: don't fast travel away right after the event.

The star rating and the Bigfoot chance come from community databases and aren't officially confirmed by Bethesda.

๐ŸŽฏ General Zeta 4-Star Mods: What He Drops and What He Doesn't

General Zeta is the boss of the third and final wave. He shows up after you've killed 30 aliens and Flatwoods Monsters, guarding the last Brainwave Siphon.

There were two conflicting claims about his loot, which have since lined up:

  • Nuka Knights listed General Zeta as a 4-star legendary for a while and wrote that he could drop all 4-star mods โ€œexcept Thrill-Seeker's.โ€ Per the event page's change log, that was corrected to 3 stars on August 19, 2026.
  • fallout.fandom.com also describes General Zeta as a 3-star legendary.

Both are fan wiki or community sources, and there's no official confirmation from Bethesda. In practice: don't count on 4-star loot from Zeta. The only reliable part is the guaranteed event reward of 500 XP, 100 caps, a 1-star legendary, 2 Treasury Notes and the Alien Souvenir Beer Stein plan.

โš ๏ธ Thrill-Seeker's: The Mod Zeta Doesn't Drop

Thrill-Seeker's is a 4-star weapon mod. Its effect per a community database: reload speed and melee attack speed rise with your kill streak, listed at 2% per kill. For builds that clear enemy chains all the time, so anything around events, Expeditions and public event grinding, it's an effect that builds on itself over time.

In the earlier Nuka Knights entry, exactly this mod was excluded from Zeta's table. With the Backwoods update, Bethesda officially announced that Bigfoot is a 4-star legendary creature and that killing it gives a chance at a 4-star item with the new 4-star mod Thrillseeker. That's the official confirmation of where the mod comes from, but not of a percentage.

How 4-star mods work in general and where else you get them is in our Fallout 76 4-star mods guide.

๐Ÿฉธ Bigfoot After the Event: The 33 Percent

What Bethesda officially says in the release notes for The Backwoods:

  • Bigfoot is a 4-star legendary creature.
  • It has a chance to appear at the end of select public events.
  • It fights with a log and throws bloodsucking ticks.
  • If killing it takes too long, Bigfoot disappears back into the wilderness.
  • Defeating it gives a chance at a 4-star item with the Thrillseeker mod.

What Bethesda does not say, but Nuka Knights lists on its Invaders from Beyond event page: a 33% spawn chance for a 4-star Bigfoot after the event ends. There's also a 25% chance at the Thrill-Seeker's mod going around for when Bigfoot dies. That number isn't on the Nuka Knights event page, and we couldn't confirm it again at our last check. Both percentages are community data, not officially confirmed. We list them because they're the only numbers to go by, but we mark them clearly for what they are.

๐Ÿ“Š What Thrill-Seeker's Really Costs You

Put the two community numbers together and you get math that shows what you're signing up for:

StepValueResult per run
Bigfoot spawns after the event33%0.33
Bigfoot drops Thrill-Seeker's25%0.33 ร— 0.25 = 8.25%
Expected runs per mod1 / 0.0825about 12 runs
Time at 1 run per hour12 hoursabout 6 hours at 2 runs per hour

That's an expected value, not a guarantee: 12 runs is the average, not the maximum. And the math stands or falls with two unconfirmed percentages. In 2026 the event ran for 14 days, from August 18 to September 1. According to Nuka Knights, no new dates have been announced. If it comes back: don't throw runs away by leaving right after the last siphon explodes.

๐Ÿ’ก The Routine That Makes the Difference

  • Stay after the Zeta siphon. The completion screen isn't the end. Wait until it's clear whether a party crasher shows up.
  • Plan ammo for a second fight. A 4-star creature after three waves of aliens is the worst moment to run dry. Good options are in our Fallout 76 best weapons tier list.
  • Kill fast. Bethesda explicitly says Bigfoot disappears if it takes too long. A full team isn't a comfort here, it's the requirement.
  • Don't leave to sort loot. You can clean up your inventory afterwards.
  • Bring a Legendary Module budget. If you want to use 4-star mods properly, you need resources. See our Fallout 76 Legendary Modules guide.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Where and When You Meet Zeta

No Zeta without the event, and the event doesn't run nonstop: Invaders from Beyond starts at the top of the hour and lasts about 10 minutes. It rotates across six fixed spots in Appalachia, from Wavy Willard's Water Park in the Toxic Valley to Sparse Sundew Grove in the Cranberry Bog. All six spots with region, start times and a server hopping routine are in our Invaders from Beyond locations guide.

For the Zeta fight itself: the Flatwoods Monsters in wave 3 come in cryo and poison variants, and the UFO keeps marking rocket targets on the ground. In power armor you have the calmer role against both damage types. Basics are in our Fallout 76 power armor guide.

โ“ FAQ: General Zeta 4-Star Mods

Does General Zeta drop 4-star mods?

Per current community data, no. Nuka Knights corrected Zeta from 4 to 3 stars on August 19, 2026, and fallout.fandom.com also lists him as a 3-star legendary. There's no official statement from Bethesda.

How do I get the Thrill-Seeker's mod?

Bigfoot is the officially confirmed source: in the Backwoods release notes, Bethesda names a chance at a 4-star item with the Thrillseeker mod when you kill Bigfoot. The 25% drop chance is a community figure.

What exactly does Thrill-Seeker's do?

Per a community database, it raises reload speed and melee attack speed based on your kill streak, listed at 2% per kill.

Does Bigfoot spawn after every event?

No. Bethesda talks about select public events and a chance. Nuka Knights puts that chance at 33%, including for Invaders from Beyond. Not officially confirmed.

How long do I have to kill Bigfoot?

Bethesda gives no time window, but explicitly says Bigfoot returns to the wilderness if you take too long. Plan the fight as a group and with spare ammo.

Is farming worth it if the event comes back?

For Thrill-Seeker's, yes, because Bigfoot can appear after a successful run and the event starts every hour while it runs. On paper you're at about 12 runs per Thrill-Seeker's. Don't plan on General Zeta 4-star mods from the boss himself.

Everything in this guide was checked against the official release notes for The Backwoods on fallout.bethesda.net, the Fallout wiki (fallout.wiki) and fallout.fandom.com as of August 2026. The Bigfoot spawn and Thrill-Seeker's drop percentages and General Zeta's star rating are community data without official confirmation. Added in October 2026: Nuka Knights has listed Zeta as a 3-star legendary since August 19, 2026, and the event is over.
