Warframe Kuva Lich Guide 2026: Murmur, Requiem Mods and the Right Order

You kill a Warframe Kuva Lich with three Requiem mods in the right order on your Parazon. Murmur only tells you which three Requiems your Lich needs, not their order. You find that out by testing, and the attempt history in the Lich menu helps with exactly that.

☠️ Requirements for your first Warframe Kuva Lich

Per the wiki's Kuva Lich article, a Kuva Larvling can only appear once three conditions are met. You need a fourth one by the finale at the latest.

Important for planning: you can't execute a Larvling while you already have an active adversary. That goes for a Kuva Lich as well as a Sister of Parvos or a Technocyte Coda. A Larvling can still show up in your mission if a squad member without an active adversary is along.

⚔️ Finding a Larvling and creating your Lich

Kuva Larvlings appear in normal Grineer missions at level 20 and up. Excluded are Sorties, Void Fissures, Invasions, quests, Dark Sectors and the planet Uranus. Crossfire missions and the Steel Path do count.

Before the Larvling appears, the lights flicker yellow. Per the wiki, you then have about 30 seconds to kill 15 enemies. After that the Larvling appears, and you execute it with your Parazon.

Your choice of Warframe matters here. The frame you use to execute the Larvling counts as the Progenitor. It sets the element of the bonus damage on the Kuva weapon and your Lich's ability set. Per the wiki, a new Lich also has a 20 percent chance to carry an Ephemera matching that element. Which frames you can get early is covered in our list of the best Warframes for beginners.

After the execution, your Lich controls nodes on a planet. Thralls spawn on those nodes. The Lich also takes about 0.7 percent of your mission rewards per influenced node. You get the stolen loot back once the Lich is finally defeated. Completing a node removes the influence there.

🔍 Murmur: what the hints really reveal

You collect Murmur two ways: by executing Thralls with your Parazon and by testing a Requiem combination on the Lich itself. Per the wiki, one test gives about 10 Murmur on average. The display has three rings, and each full ring reveals a hint. The thresholds vary but average out at 36, 60 and 84 Murmur, about 180 in total.

The key point is stated plainly in the wiki's Adversary System article: Murmur only shows which Requiem mods are needed. It doesn't reveal the order. After three hints you know the three correct mods, but you still have to arrange them.

🔢 The real math behind the Requiem order

There are eight Requiem mods: Fass, Jahu, Khra, Lohk, Netra, Ris, Vome and Xata. Oull comes on top as a wildcard. Every Warframe Kuva Lich has a passphrase of three different Requiems in a fixed order.

So Murmur narrows down the mods but doesn't solve the order. You narrow down the last six options by testing. The attempt history helps: per the wiki, your Lich's status menu shows tested mods in color. Correct mods appear in your UI color, wrong mods or wrong positions are crossed out in red, and untested mods are gray.

By the way, you don't have to wait until all three hints are revealed. Every test gives Murmur and Kuva on its own. An early attempt does cost you a Lich rank, though. More on that next.

⚠️ What a failed attempt on your Warframe Kuva Lich costs

When you bring your Lich down to low health, it staggers and you get a short window for the Mercy finisher with your Parazon. If the combination is wrong, it vows revenge, ranks up and disappears. With every rank it moves on: Earth, Mars, Ceres, Sedna and at rank 5 the Kuva Fortress, where enemies are level 90 to 110.

An attempt isn't wasted, though. When the Parazon is used on the Lich, the whole squad gets Kuva: 150, 200, 250 or 300 at ranks 1 to 4. On top of that come the roughly 10 Murmur per test.

A special case per the wiki: if the Lich staggers three times without anyone attempting a Parazon finisher, or if every player is down, it flees the mission. It doesn't rank up then, but you get no Kuva or Murmur either.

🧩 Charges, Defiled and Oull

A Requiem mod at rank 0 has three charges. A charge isn't used on every attempt, only on success: when the Lich flees after the correct combination, every equipped Requiem mod ranks up and loses one charge. In the final confrontation in Saturn Proxima, the equipped mods lose another charge, per the wiki.

At rank 3 or with no charges left, the mod becomes “Defiled” and can't be used anymore. You can dissolve it for Endo, sell it for credits or transmute it. Four Requiem mods, including Defiled copies, transmute into one random rank 0 Requiem mod.

Oull is a wildcard that replaces any Requiem. Per the wiki, a Lich has a 25 percent chance to drop Oull when it flees after the correct sequence. Only the player who downed the Lich gets the drop. You can also get Oull by transmuting four Requiem mods.

✅ Getting Requiem mods

Since mods burn out, every new Warframe Kuva Lich needs fresh supplies. Since Update 42.0 on March 25, 2026, the Requiem Eterna relic is the standard source. It only contains the eight Requiem mods at equal odds and can't be refined with Void Traces.

You get Riven Slivers from Requiem relics in Void Fissures, from Empyrean missions, at 2 percent from Eximus enemies above level 30 and at 5 percent from the Jackal at level 41 and up, among other sources. ⚔️ Finale: confronting your Warframe Kuva Lich in Saturn Proxima

After the correct combination, the Lich flees and a confrontation node appears in Saturn Proxima. There you break its health bars with the correct sequence. Then you have 20 seconds to decide. If you don't choose, the Lich is vanquished automatically.

• Vanquish: The Lich dies. Its Kuva weapon arrives in a message from Ordis and waits in your Foundry.
• Convert: The Lich survives and becomes your ally, and you can bring it on as Railjack crew. You don't get the weapon this way.

Either way you get any Ephemera it carried, plus the Old Blood emblem on your first win. The Kuva weapon's bonus damage rolls randomly between 25 and 60 percent of base damage. Valence Fusion of two identical weapons raises the higher value by a factor of 1.1, capped at 60 percent.

💡 FAQ about the Warframe Kuva Lich

Does Murmur show the Requiem order?

No. Per wiki.warframe.com, the three Murmur hints only reveal which Requiems your Lich needs. You find the order by testing. Once all three mods are known, six possible orders remain.

How many Requiem mods do I need?

Three different ones per attempt. Since you don't know which ones your Lich needs before the first hint, and mods are used up after three successes, it's worth keeping a stock of several different Requiems.

Can I have several Kuva Liches at once?

No. As long as you have an active Lich, Sister of Parvos or Technocyte Coda, you can't execute a Larvling.

Is Convert better than Vanquish?

Only if you don't need the weapon. A converted Lich helps as Railjack crew, but you only get the Kuva weapon through Vanquish.
