Warframe Follie Guide: Farm, Abilities and Steel Path Build

Warframe Follie is the game's 64th unique Warframe. She arrived with Update 42.0, "The Shadowgrapher," on March 25, 2026. She plays unlike anything else in the roster: an ink-based artist who brings objects from her sketchbook to life, smothers enemies in ink and is farmed in a horror-style mode where she hunts you. This guide covers her kit, the farm with exact numbers and a starting build for The Steel Path.

๐Ÿ–‹๏ธ Follie's passive: Inkblot

Everything in Follie's kit revolves around Inkblot. Enemies hit by her abilities get covered in ink and are slowed by 50% for 10 seconds. Inked enemies also have a 20% chance to drop a Health or Energy Orb when they die. The more enemies you ink, the more orbs you see for you and your squad. It's not a nice extra; it's the base the whole frame is built on.

๐ŸŽจ All 4 abilities explained

1. Forced Perspective

Follie dives through an ink frame and teleports to the target spot. She's invulnerable during the move. An ink pool appears where she lands and applies Inkblot to nearby enemies. On top of that, it cleanses status effects from you.

Use it for: fast repositioning, getting out of danger and clearing status. On The Steel Path the invulnerability window saves you more often than you'd think.

2. Shadowgraph: the core ability

This is what makes Follie unique. Hold the ability to open a gear wheel (her sketchbook), then release on an icon to draw that object into the world. Each cast costs 25 energy. More objects unlock as the ability ranks up, 14 in total according to the Warframe Wiki:

ObjectWhat it doesUnlocks at
Explosive BarrelRandom Blast, Cold or Gas barrel, 12 m explosion, up to 3 activeRank 0
Arc TrapInvulnerable trap that zaps enemies with Electricity in 10 m, up to 3 activeRank 0
Thermian RPGFires three rockets, 30 s cooldownRank 1
AmphorsThree elemental grenades, 10 m radiusRank 1
Death OrbRotating lasers, 30 s cooldownRank 1
Corralizer ArmamentCold beams at up to 6 enemies within 15 mRank 1
Lohk SurgeSingle-use Lohk Surge buff, also summons an Eximus, 7 min cooldownRank 2
Universal AmmoAmmo every 5 sRank 2
Launch PadLaunches players and enemies upwardRank 2
Lost SpiritRuns to the nearest hidden treasure within 300 mRank 2
Life Support CapsuleRefills 30% life support in SurvivalRank 3
Power CellA standard Excavator Power CellRank 3
Defense CapsuleA decoy cryopod that draws enemy fireRank 3
Conduit KeyA Disruption conduit keyRank 3

Every object splashes Inkblot onto nearby enemies when it's created and when it expires, which feeds the passive. The mission tools are the real trick: Power Cells for Excavation, Conduit Keys for Disruption and Life Support in Survival mean Follie adapts to almost any node.

3. Self Portrait

Follie draws an inky clone of herself that grants Damage Reduction. An ink pool spreads under it.

Use it for: staying alive in hard content. On The Steel Path, put it down before you walk into a room full of enemies, not after.

4. Plein Air

Ties nearby enemies to floating balloons, lifting them into the air while stripping their Armor and Shields. When the balloon pops, they fall and take heavy fall damage.

Use it for: emergency crowd control when too many enemies arrive at once. Floating enemies can't fight back, and with their defenses gone they drop fast.

๐ŸŽˆ How to farm Follie: Follie's Hunt

Requirement

You need to have finished the quest Chains of Harrow. Then you can start Follie's Hunt, a special mission node on the ruined Vesper Relay on Venus.

How the mission works

Follie's Hunt is a squad mission in the ruined relay. Your job:

Step 1: Find the three Shadowgraph Canvases (A, B and C). They aren't marked at the start.

Step 2: Collect Paint from golden vessels. Careful: while you carry Paint you're forced into your Operator or Drifter. No Void Sling, no Transference, just basic movement and Void Mode. Canvases and Paint never spawn in the same room, and the amount of Paint needed scales with squad size.

Step 3: Bring the Paint to the canvases. Delivering takes about four seconds.

Once the first Paint is delivered, Follie and her clones start hunting you. Her aura drains health and shields within 5 m, and she paints her own hazards with Shadowgraph. At launch she couldn't be killed. Hotfix 42.0.2 changed that: she can now be damaged, her aura deals a third less damage, and at low health she retreats for a while before coming back. Her abilities still can't touch her, but the clones can be hit with anything.

Drop chances and the pity system

The main blueprint and each component (Neuroptics, Chassis, Systems) drop from Rotation A with a 5% chance each, or 6% on The Steel Path. That's rough, but there's a pity system:

Atramentum is the mission's own currency. Rotation B guarantees 15 Atramentum on normal and 25 on The Steel Path. More comes from enemy kills and from the 12 Atramentum balloons that spawn in each mission. Popping a balloon gives Atramentum to the whole squad.

Spend it at Aspirant Zorba, who you'll find in the relays:

PartAtramentum
Follie Blueprint1,200
Neuroptics, Chassis, Systems400 each
Full set2,400

Our math: from the guaranteed Rotation B reward alone, 2,400 Atramentum takes 160 normal runs or 96 Steel Path runs. Balloons and kills cut that down a lot, so in practice it's well under those numbers.

Farming tips

Play with a full squad. Split up, collect Paint in parallel and you finish runs much faster.

Bring a fast frame. Volt, Titania, Wukong or Wisp all get you between Paint and canvases quickly. Our best beginner Warframes guide shows how to get most of them early.

Scout first. Find all three canvases before you pick up Paint. You're slow in Operator form, so short routes matter.

Pop every balloon you see. The Atramentum adds up and the whole squad gets it.

โš”๏ธ Best Follie build for The Steel Path

This is our suggested starting point, not an official recommendation. Ability Range spreads Inkblot and the reach of her abilities, Ability Strength helps the damage side of her kit. New to the mode? Read our Steel Path beginner's guide first.

Suggested mods

Overextended: maximum range for Inkblot spread and her area abilities.

Stretch: more range.

Intensify: base Strength for all abilities.

Transient Fortitude: high Strength at the cost of Duration.

Fleeting Expertise: efficiency, because you'll be drawing new objects all the time.

Vitality or Adaptation: survivability for The Steel Path.

Augur Message or Continuity: if you want more Duration for Self Portrait.

Archon Shards

Crimson Shards: Ability Strength.

Violet Shards: bonus Ability Damage on enemies affected by Electricity, which pairs well with the Arc Trap.

Playstyle

Step 1: Enter a room with Forced Perspective (teleport, status cleanse, Inkblot).

Step 2: Drop Self Portrait for Damage Reduction.

Step 3: Cycle Shadowgraph: Explosive Barrels and Arc Traps, up to three of each at once.

Step 4: Use Plein Air as emergency crowd control and armor strip when too many enemies show up.

Thanks to the passive, every inked kill has a shot at a Health or Energy Orb, so a busy fight keeps you topped up.

๐Ÿ”ซ Follie's signature weapon: Enkaus

The Enkaus is a beam rifle. Primary fire is a continuous Corrosive stream, alt-fire shoots an ink projectile that applies Inkblot when Follie uses it. The key mechanic: when the Enkaus drops an ink-stained enemy below 35% health, the enemy dissolves and dies instantly. Other damage can weaken the target first, and the primary fire uses no ammo on ink-stained enemies. Bosses can't be executed this way. In practice: ink an elite, soften it with Shadowgraph objects and finish it with the Enkaus. If the late-game damage falloff bugs you, our Galvanized mods guide explains why.

โ“ FAQ about Follie

How do I farm Follie?

Through Follie's Hunt on the ruined Vesper Relay, which needs Chains of Harrow. Each part has a 5% drop chance (6% on The Steel Path). Or buy the parts with Atramentum from Aspirant Zorba, 2,400 for the full set.

What makes Follie unique?

Shadowgraph. It creates up to 14 different objects from her sketchbook, from Explosive Barrels and Arc Traps to Power Cells and Conduit Keys, so she adapts to almost any mission type.

What should I build Follie for?

Range and Strength first (Overextended, Stretch, Intensify, Transient Fortitude, Fleeting Expertise), plus survivability mods for The Steel Path.

How does her passive work?

Inkblot slows enemies by 50% for 10 seconds. Inked enemies have a 20% chance to drop a Health or Energy Orb when they die.

Can you kill Follie in Follie's Hunt?

Since Hotfix 42.0.2 she can be damaged and retreats for a while at low health, but she comes back. She's immune to abilities. Her clones aren't.

๐Ÿ Is Follie worth it?

Yes. Shadowgraph gives her a toolbox no other frame has, from objective items to turrets and traps, and Self Portrait plus Forced Perspective keep her alive. The farm is grindy at 5% per part in a mode where you're the prey. The Atramentum shop makes sure you get her eventually, and Steel Path runs get you there faster.

As of October 9, 2026 (current game version: Update 44.1). Release date, abilities, Shadowgraph objects, drop chances, Atramentum amounts and prices, Hotfix 42.0.2 changes and Enkaus mechanics were checked against the community-run Warframe Wiki (there's no official wiki). The build is our own recommendation.
