In Conan Exiles Enhanced, one character can travel between the Exiled Lands and the Conan Exiles Siptah map, the Isle of Siptah, through an NPC called the Adherent of the Outer Dark, without switching servers. This guide explains the new map travel and draws a clear line between it and the classic character transfer.
With Conan Exiles Enhanced (Unreal Engine 5, since May 5, 2026), Funcom fulfills a long-standing player wish: you can now move back and forth between the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah with a single character. A few half-truths are going around, from "the maps are one map now" to vague claims about teleport stones. This guide keeps apart two things that get mixed up all the time: the new in-game travel between maps and the classic character transfer between servers.
๐บ๏ธ Are the Exiled Lands and Siptah "one map" now?
Yes and no, and that's exactly where the misunderstanding starts. Funcom technically moved the Isle of Siptah into the same world and server space as the Exiled Lands (the island's coordinates were changed for this). That's also why Siptah bases couldn't be kept during the switch to Enhanced. This "merge" is what lets a character exist on both maps in the first place.
What it is not: a single continuous landmass you can simply walk across. You still switch deliberately from one map to the other, just no longer by changing servers but conveniently through an NPC right in the game. The NPC trip doesn't need teleport stones or special resources. Some players on the Funcom forums report that teleport stones also work between the maps, but that's not officially confirmed.
โก๏ธ How to travel from the Exiled Lands to Siptah
The key is a new NPC: the Adherent of the Outer Dark, a sorcerer.
- Travel to Waterside in the Exiled Lands.
- Find the Adherent of the Outer Dark there by the water.
- Talk to him and pick the dialogue option to travel to the Isle of Siptah.
- After confirming, you're taken to the island and arrive at the Camp of the Castaways, right next to another Adherent for the way back.
Waterside isn't the only starting point. According to player reports on the Funcom forums, there are more Adherents in the Exiled Lands, for example in front of the tavern in Sepermeru and at the Newbie River. Depending on where you start, you land at a different spot on Siptah.
โฌ ๏ธ Back to the Exiled Lands
The way back is just as simple: talk to the Adherent of the Outer Dark at the Camp of the Castaways and choose the travel option back to the Exiled Lands. Siptah has several of these NPCs spread across the island, according to community guides including at the Scavenger Coast and near Southwatch Keep. The one at the Camp of the Castaways is the most convenient arrival and return point.
โ๏ธ Why the switch is worth it
Both maps have their own content, and that's what makes traveling with one character so valuable. On the Isle of Siptah you'll find things the Exiled Lands don't have: the Maelstrom (the recurring storm), the Surges for summoning and capturing thralls and creatures, the Vaults as dungeon-like challenges, and Eldarium as its own resource. The Exiled Lands in turn offer the classic journey around the bracelet, the established dungeons and well-known thrall camps such as Sepermeru or the Mounds of the Dead.
It used to mean two separate characters or an awkward server switch. Now you take your one high-level character with all its knowledge and recipes along and get the best of both worlds without starting over.
โ ๏ธ Requirements and pitfalls
- Isle of Siptah DLC required: without the DLC, travel to Siptah isn't available to you.
- Enhanced only: the travel system only exists in Conan Exiles Enhanced (UE5). If your server still runs the Legacy version, the NPC or the option is missing.
- Can't see the NPC? First check whether you're really on an Enhanced server. That's by far the most common cause.
If an old Siptah server in your favorites now shows ping 9999, that's a side effect of the merge. The fix is in our guide to servers not showing and ping 9999.
๐ Character transfer between servers is something else
Important for understanding: the NPC trip above moves you within the same server between the two maps. Character transfer is a separate, older system that moves your character to a different server. The two get lumped together often, but they have nothing to do with each other.
According to the official Conan Exiles website, character transfer was disabled when this guide was first published (June 2026). We couldn't verify the current status in October 2026. When it's available, these rules apply:
- Official to official: from PvP you can go to PvP, PvE-C or PvE; from PvE-C to PvE-C or PvE; from PvE only to PvE.
- Official to unofficial is allowed, but never the other way around (unofficial to official doesn't work).
- Unofficial to unofficial is possible if the server allows it in its settings. When in doubt, ask the admin first.
- For a transfer to a Siptah server, you need the Isle of Siptah DLC.
๐ฆ What carried over in the switch to Enhanced?
Some migration context for returning players: on official Exiled Lands servers, everything was carried over to the UE5 version. Character, followers and bases were kept. That wasn't the case for Siptah: because of the coordinate shift mentioned above, Siptah bases couldn't be kept.
Funcom therefore advised Siptah players to tear down their bases before the server downtime and store the materials with their followers. Private server owners were told to back up their databases (game.db and dlc_siptah.db) before the update. A complete overview of everything new is in our Enhanced returning player guide.
โ FAQ: traveling to Conan Exiles Siptah
How do I travel between the Exiled Lands and Siptah in Conan Exiles Enhanced?
Through the NPC Adherent of the Outer Dark. In the Exiled Lands you'll find him at Waterside among other places, and on Siptah at the Camp of the Castaways, for example. Talking to him takes you to the other map, no server switch needed.
Are the Exiled Lands and Siptah a single map now?
No. Both sit in the same server space technically so that one character can exist on both, but they're still separate maps that you switch between on purpose via the NPC.
Do I need a DLC to travel to Siptah?
Yes, the Isle of Siptah DLC is required. The travel system also only works in Conan Exiles Enhanced (UE5), not in the Legacy version.
Is map travel the same as character transfer?
No. Map travel moves you between the maps on the same server. Character transfer moves your character to a different server and is a separate system, which according to the official website was disabled in June 2026.
โจ Bottom line
The new travel system is one of the best quality-of-life improvements in Enhanced: one character, two maps, one NPC conversation in between, no more server switching. Just remember the difference: map travel (NPC, same server, new in Enhanced) isn't the same as character transfer (server switch, separate system, disabled in June 2026). Keep those apart and you'll save yourself a lot of searching.

As of October 2026. Checked against Funcom's information on the Enhanced launch and the map merge, the official Conan Exiles website (character transfer rules), and player reports on the Funcom forums, which are labeled as such. The current status of character transfer couldn't be verified in October 2026.
