Conan Exiles Secret Locations and Hidden Treasures (2026)

Conan Exiles secret locations are caves and dungeons off the main paths that a lot of players never enter, with bosses, knowledge and dense resource nodes. This guide covers five of them in the Exiled Lands, from The Barrow King and Hanuman's Grotto to the Abandoned Silver Mine. Everything here was checked against the Gamer Guides database, and we only give map grids where that source lists them.

๐Ÿž๏ธ 1. The Barrow King

Location: Hinterlands, map grid A11 (according to Gamer Guides)
Why go there?

  • A small open-world dungeon in a vaulted cave with just one enemy: a big undead king at three-skull level
  • The boss drops loot
  • A stone tablet on the ground (to the left in front of the king, seen from the entrance) unlocks the knowledge Vanquisher of the King Beneath

Tip: According to Gamer Guides, the cave door won't open unless you carry Demon Blood in your inventory.

๐ŸŒฟ 2. Hanuman's Grotto

Location: A small cave in the starting desert, map grid H3
Why go there?

  • One of the densest Crystal spots in the game, according to Gamer Guides
  • Imps (a source of Demon Blood), a one-skull imp boss and, at the end, Valis the Loyal, a three-skull boss
  • Valis always drops a Withered Heart. Offered up, it gives a chance at the Boon of the Gorilla and with it a gorilla pet

Tip: Bring a better pickaxe so you can mine the crystals on the spot. Of all the Conan Exiles secret locations here, this one is the easiest to reach from the start.

๐ŸงŠ 3. The Temple of Frost

Location: In the far north of the Exiled Lands
Why go there?

  • Behind the throne of Hrungnir of the Frost stands a Lorestone that unlocks the Frost Smithing knowledge
  • The temple's Frost Temple Smithy makes tier 4 and tier 5 items, mostly from Black Ice. The Frost Giant Smith guards it
  • According to Gamer Guides, the White Dragon lies beneath that smithy

Tip: You'll find the Black Ice for it in the Frozen North biome, mostly in the snowy mountains.

๐Ÿ”ฅ 4. The Well of Skelos

Location: Inside the volcano, on the border of map grids F/G 14 (according to Gamer Guides)
Why go there?

  • A serpent-men dungeon with two bosses, among them The Degenerate, who summons snake spirits
  • You learn the serpent-men recipes at the very top of the well's shrine area, and the obsidian recipes behind The Degenerate's throne
  • Enemies drop high-grade materials such as Gold Coins, Obsidian and Steel Bars

Tip: There's no tunnel to the entrance. You jump into the odd-looking whirlpool, which makes this one of the best-hidden Conan Exiles secret locations on the map.

โ›๏ธ 5. Abandoned Silver Mine

Location: Directly southeast of Sepermeru, between the landmarks The Jawbone and Rhinohorn Ridge
Why go there?

  • The densest Silverstone deposit in the game, according to Gamer Guides
  • Silver-vein Rocknoses drop Silverstone and Ironstone when you harvest them
  • The final boss is the Ancient Scorpion Queen, a three-skull enemy with hard hits and poison

Tip: The mine isn't empty. Lots of scorpions wait inside, and Scorpion Kings near the end. Come prepared for poison.

โ“ FAQ about Conan Exiles secret locations

Where do I find Black Ice?
In the Frozen North biome, mostly in the snowy mountains. The Temple of Frost in the far north also has the smithy where you craft Black Ice gear once you know Frost Smithing.

Which spot is best for farming silver?
The Abandoned Silver Mine directly southeast of Sepermeru. Gamer Guides calls it the densest Silverstone deposit in the game, but it's full of scorpions and ends with the Ancient Scorpion Queen.

Where do I learn recipes in the Well of Skelos?
The serpent-men recipes sit on a stone slab at the top of the shrine area in the heart of the volcano. The obsidian recipes are behind the throne of the boss The Degenerate.

What should I bring to these places?
Demon Blood for The Barrow King, a better pickaxe for the crystals in Hanuman's Grotto and poison protection for the silver mine. For the three-skull bosses, a strong follower helps.

What's inside The Barrow King?
According to Gamer Guides, the cave in the Hinterlands (map grid A11) only opens with Demon Blood in your inventory. Inside there's a single enemy, the undead king. A stone tablet in front of him unlocks the knowledge Vanquisher of the King Beneath.

Is Hanuman's Grotto worth it?
For crystals, yes. Gamer Guides lists the small cave in the starting desert (H3) as one of the densest Crystal spots. The final boss Valis the Loyal is a three-skull enemy, though. His Withered Heart gives a chance at a gorilla pet when offered.

๐Ÿ” Bottom line: exploring pays off

These five Conan Exiles secret locations are worth it for concrete reasons: crystals in Hanuman's Grotto, silver in the abandoned mine, Black Ice gear at the Temple of Frost, knowledge in The Barrow King and recipes in the Well of Skelos. Plan for the boss fights. Three of the five end with a three-skull enemy.

All Conan Exiles secret locations in this guide were checked against the Gamer Guides database for Conan Exiles (caves, dungeons, resources, crafting stations) as of October 2026.
