Since Update 1, the StarRupture Teleporter unlock runs purely through the reputation of a single corporation; the Forgotten Engine mission is no longer required. According to community data, the reward sits at Clever Robotics level 9, well before the end of the Early Access content.
This guide shows you the points path there, the cheaper stopgaps along the way and where your teleporters really belong.
๐ The Short Version
If you just want the hard facts, here they are. Each one notes its source, so you can tell official patch notes from community knowledge.
- Unlock: The Teleporter is a corporation reward, no longer a mission reward. That's official, per the Update 1 patch notes (April 9/10, 2026).
- Level: Clever Robotics level 9, according to the community-run StarRupture wiki; not officially confirmed by Creepy Jar.
- Effort: 179,400 corporation points cumulative up to level 9 (also from the community wiki).
- Handling: You can name your teleporters, and since Update 2 these names show up on the map. That's official, per the Update 2 patch notes.
- Number: The patch notes talk about "your Teleporters" in the plural. There's no documented limit.
- Build cost: 1,000 Intermediate Building Material; in operation the Teleporter draws 80 MW. Both values come from metaforge.app, a database built from the game files.
๐๏ธ Update 1 Changed the Whole Route
This is where almost every older guide goes wrong. Until Update 1, the Teleporter was tied to starting up the Forgotten Engine, a tough endgame task many players never reached. Many guides still date from January 2026 and describe exactly that old route. If you want to unlock the StarRupture Teleporter today, you follow a different path.
Creepy Jar cleared that up on April 9/10, 2026. The patch notes say word for word: "You can now unlock the Teleporter by achieving the corresponding Corporate level - you won't need to launch the Forgotten Engine to receive it anymore." In short: fast travel now depends on reputation, not on a mission.
The Forgotten Engine hasn't become worthless; it just has a different job now. According to the same patch notes, finishing the mission removes the radiation border and opens new areas with new resources, extractors and building spots. Fast travel is decoupled from it now, so you can own it before you open up the map.
๐ StarRupture Teleporter Unlock: The Points Path to Clever Robotics Level 9
All logistics and transport unlocks hang on Clever Robotics, so there's no way around this one corporation. The table lists the relevant part of the reputation tree with cumulative points. Important: these numbers come from the community-run StarRupture wiki and aren't officially confirmed. They do match the content of Update 1, though: Zipline, cargo buildings and Goethite show up exactly where the update introduced them.
| Level | Points (cumulative) | Unlock |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | 17,600 | Multirail 3, Rail Modulator 3 |
| 6 | 37,800 | Zipline Pole, Zipline |
| 7 | 69,700 | Cargo Dispatcher, Cargo Receiver |
| 8 | 116,000 | Roundabout Rail Connector |
| 9 | 179,400 | Teleporter |
| 10 | 262,600 | Multirail 5, Rail Modulator 5 |
๐ฐ What It Really Costs
The bare level number hides how long the road is. Do the math yourself: the Zipline sits at 37,800 points, the Teleporter at 179,400. Between them lie 141,600 points, almost four times what it cost you to reach the Zipline, just for this one jump.
Put differently: once the Zipline is up, about 79 percent of the points effort to unlock the StarRupture Teleporter is still ahead of you. That's no reason to skip it, but a good reason not to treat the levels in between as a waypoint and to actually use them.
A second cost factor is materials. Clever Robotics level 9 brings in goods like Goethite Lattice and Inductor, which build on the Goethite chain. Without a running Goethite supply, the climb gets slow. How to deal with the radiation there is covered in our guide to mining Goethite Ore.
๐ Data Points: Your Lever in the Corporate Terminal
There's a legitimate shortcut. Update 1 reset all corporation levels to 1 and converted existing progress into Data Points. You distribute these points yourself in the Corporate Terminal, according to the patch notes "to quickly unlock Corporation Levels and new Rewards." So if you keep playing an old save, you can shorten the road to level 9 instead of earning it all over again.
There's a trade-off that's easy to miss: Data Points are also needed to research licenses you've already unlocked. If you sink everything into levels, you suddenly hold a Teleporter you can't research.
Since Update 2, planning has become easier: the Corporate Terminal and the Orbital Cargo Launcher now show exactly which goods a level requires, and there's a display of the level requirements.
๐ Where to Place Your Teleporters
Right after the unlock, the location question comes up. From here on it's experience rather than patch notes: the following recommendations come from the map layout of Arcadia-7, not from an official source. Four spots almost always pay off:
- Home base with Habitat: Your retreat is the one place you need to reach in seconds in an emergency. A teleport pad right next to the Airlock turns every expedition into a round trip instead of a march.
- Production site in the northeast: If your second base stands in the northeast of the map, that's the place you adjust every day.
- At the edge of the new area: Once the Forgotten Engine has removed the radiation border, the trip into the new zones gets long. A pad at the old border shortens every later trip there.
- Forward mining outpost: A single extractor on a remote node only pays off once you can service it without a ten-minute walk.
Two things make life easier. First: give them descriptive names right away. Since Update 2, the custom names of teleporters and Base Cores show up on the map. "Teleporter 3" won't help you; "Lake Base" or "Goethite North" will. Second: keep the Rupture window in mind. Jumping to a spot with no sealed building in reach is deadly when the next Rupture hits.
๐ง Until Level 9: Zipline, Cargo Drones and Rails
Levels 6 and 7 are the real reason the long road is bearable. The Zipline, introduced with Update 1, comes at just 37,800 points, a good fifth of the effort for the final reward.
It doesn't solve the same problem, since it's a fixed line instead of a free jump, but it covers exactly the same recurring routes between base sections and nearby mining spots. If you're still building your logistics, our guide to StarRupture drone rails covers crossings, slopes and bottlenecks.
One level later come the Cargo Dispatcher and Cargo Receiver. Since Update 1 they work in a fixed one-to-one link, which meant existing setups had to be reconnected manually after the update. For moving materials over distance, that's the clean replacement for your own backpack.
Steam discussions also mention the trick of placing cargo receivers in pairs at both bases and filling them with building material to save supply runs. That's an unconfirmed community solution from January 2026; whether it still works the same way in the current version (Hotfix 0.3.5), you'll have to test in your own save.
โ Frequently Asked Questions about the StarRupture Teleporter Unlock
At which level can I unlock the Teleporter?
According to the community-run StarRupture wiki, it's the reward for Clever Robotics level 9, at 179,400 cumulative points. In the patch notes, Creepy Jar only mentions "the corresponding Corporate level" without a number, so the level is community knowledge, not official confirmation.
Do I still need the Forgotten Engine?
Not for fast travel. Since Update 1, it's a corporation reward. The mission is still worth it, because it removes the radiation border and opens new areas.
How many teleporters can I build?
No limit is officially documented anywhere. The Update 2 patch notes talk about teleporters in the plural and about their custom names appearing on the map, so it's clearly not a single device.
How much building material does it cost?
1,000 Intermediate Building Material, and it draws 80 MW from your grid, according to metaforge.app's game-file data. Check the build menu after each patch, since costs can change in Early Access.
Can I send goods through the Teleporter?
That isn't documented. For moving materials over distance, the Cargo Dispatcher and Cargo Receiver from level 7 are the documented way.
Can the point values still change?
Yes. StarRupture has been in Early Access since January 6, 2026, and Update 1 already reset all corporation progress once. Reputation thresholds and rewards are explicitly not set in stone.
โจ Conclusion
Since Update 1, the way to unlock the StarRupture Teleporter is to level up Clever Robotics instead of beating an endgame mission. The community places the reward at level 9 with 179,400 points; until then, the Zipline and cargo buildings carry your daily routine. If you pick your locations in advance and name your pads clearly, you'll save yourself searching the map later.
