- โ Soulframe Bow Build FAQ
"With the right bow build you can nearly one-shot bosses." That line keeps showing up in the Soulframe community, usually next to the question of which Virtue matters for it. Short answer: there really is a combination of Virtue, Pact and weapon Attunement that stacks headshot and stealth damage hard. It isn't a cheat code, though. It's three gears that have to mesh cleanly, and this Soulframe bow build guide shows which ones, as of Preludes 16 with Hotfix 6.
๐น Grace: The Virtue Behind Every Soulframe Bow Build
Every weapon in Soulframe is attuned to one or more of the three Virtues: Courage, Spirit or Grace. Bows lean almost entirely on Grace. Per the community wiki they share it with Short Blades, Flyblades and Rapiers, and Grace is also the Virtue that lowers how easily enemies detect you. That makes it the lever for any stealth playstyle. How the three Virtues work together is covered in Soulframe Virtues explained.
One catch: Attunement only pays off when you meet the weapon's Virtue requirement. Fall short and you don't get a partial bonus, you get nothing. Check how much Grace your target weapon asks for before you invest.
| Bow | Attunement | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| The Starling | pure Grace | per the community wiki from the Wyld Sirin and Paragon Founders packs, requires 7 Grace |
| Thistle | Grace | starter bow if you pick the Sirin Pact at the start |
| Avex | Courage and Grace (mixed) | requires 13 Courage and 11 Grace per the wiki, only worth it with extra Courage |
| Juniper / Maestro | Grace and Spirit (mixed) | requires 5 Spirit and 7 Grace (Juniper) or 13 Grace (Maestro) per the wiki |
For a pure headshot and stealth Soulframe bow build, a bow with pure or clearly dominant Grace Attunement such as The Starling or Thistle is the cleanest pick. Mixed bows like Avex, Juniper or Maestro only make sense if you deliberately carry a second Virtue along.
โจ Blue, Green, Red: What the Virtue Colors Mean
The community often talks about "blue" and "green" points. That's the Virtue color coding the community wiki documents for totems: blue is Grace, green is Spirit and red is Courage. For the bow, the first two matter most:
- Grace ("blue"): lowers your detection by enemies and drives Bow and Short Blade Attunement. It's the base for stealth openers and headshot-heavy play.
- Spirit ("green"): cuts the cooldowns of your Pact Arcanics. Useful when your Pact relies on abilities more than plain weapon hits.
For a Soulframe bow build that means: the headshot and stealth bonus comes from your Grace investment, not from a separate "headshot stat". Spirit points only make sense if you trade them for cooldown-heavy Pact abilities. For a pure stealth bow they stay second to full Grace.
The community wiki on wiki.avakot.org gives the numbers. Headshots with projectiles and magick get a multiplier of 1.2 + 0.03 ร Grace, so 1.8 at 20 Grace. Hits on unaware enemies and standing Finishers also get a Lethality multiplier of 1 + 0.02 ร Grace, so 1.4 at 20 Grace. Both only apply if you meet the weapon's Virtue requirement.
๐ฏ Headshots and Stealth Openers: How to Play the Bow
Here's how a Soulframe bow build plays out in a fight:
- Sneak, don't charge. As long as enemies haven't spotted you, the Grace detection bonus works for you. Stay in cover and use bushes and shadows.
- The first shot counts most. Per the wiki, the Lethality multiplier from Grace only applies to enemies that haven't noticed you yet. After that, only the headshot multiplier is left.
- Use abilities as door openers. Pact abilities that blind or stun enemies stretch the window for more headshots before the target can react.
- Plan for the rest of the fight. Once the stealth bonus is gone, the bow gets a lot weaker. Plan the second half around dodging and follow-up shots, not a second overkill hit.
๐ Pact Choice: Sirin or Garren Rood
A bow alone isn't a Soulframe bow build. Your Pact decides which abilities give you the stealth opener and the headshot windows. All Pacts are covered in our Soulframe Pacts guide. For the bow, two candidates stand out:
- Sirin is one of the three starter Pacts and built around Grace and stealth. Its Arcanic Glamour cloaks you briefly so you can sneak up on enemies and hit them from behind. The easiest way into a Soulframe bow build.
- Garren Rood (unlocked through The Torment Stag, see our Soulframe beginner guide) brings two opener abilities. According to the community wiki, Behest incapacitates and blinds nearby enemies for about 4 seconds and makes them take extra stagger from the next hit. Torment does not stagger: it drains a share of the target's remaining Life and heals you, 47.8% plus 0.86% per point of Courage on regular foes, but only 23.6% plus 0.16% per point of Courage on bosses.
That's where the "bow builds one-shot bosses" claim comes from. Realistically, it's a strong burst window from Torment, Behest and the headshot that follows, not a guaranteed instant kill. Keep in mind that Torment scales with Courage, not Grace, and takes far less Life from bosses than from regular foes per the wiki. How fast a boss drops depends on its level, your actual weapon damage and your timing.
โ๏ธ Reforging and Attunement: Getting Your Bow Onto Grace
A bow from loot doesn't automatically scale on Grace. Many drops come with Courage or Spirit Attunement. To change that you need Joineries. According to the community wiki, they add 1 to 3 Attunement pips of one Virtue when you Reforge.
The deity sets the Virtue, the blessing tier sets the amount, and 3 pips need a Thrice Blessed Joinery. Bows use Quicksilver Joineries, which the wiki lists for ranged weapons; Grace pips come from the Saphene blessing, for example "Quicksilver: Thrice Blessed by Saphene". The weapon's requirement doesn't change.
Two points that a Soulframe bow build often misses:
- Reforging with a Twice or Thrice Blessed Joinery used to reset the weapon to rank 0. Per the community wiki, that stopped with Preludes 14 Hotfix 5. Reforging again does replace the previous Joinery, though.
- Even with the right Attunement, the weapon only gives the full bonus if your Grace meets or beats its requirement.

โ Soulframe Bow Build FAQ
Can a Soulframe bow build really one-shot bosses?
No. Per the community wiki, Torment only drains 23.6% plus 0.16% per point of Courage of a boss's remaining Life, and Behest blinds it briefly. Together with a headshot from stealth that's a strong burst window, but not a guaranteed instant kill.
Which Virtue matters most for a Soulframe bow build?
Grace. It drives Bow Attunement and also lowers your detection, which is what makes stealth headshots possible in the first place.
Do I really need Blessed Joineries?
If your bow has little or no Grace Attunement, yes. Otherwise you sink Grace into a weapon that barely benefits. Quicksilver Joineries blessed by Saphene add Grace pips, but you still have to meet the weapon's Virtue requirement.
Is Spirit useless for a Soulframe bow build?
No, just secondary. Spirit cuts cooldowns and can help ability-heavy Pact combos. For a pure headshot focus, full Grace does more.
Since Preludes 16, heavy attacks including Arrow Hail deal much more stagger according to the official patch notes, and Hotfix 2 improved bow aiming.
