SpaceCraft Titanium: Sources, Mining and Uses

SpaceCraft Titanium: Sources, Mining and Uses

SpaceCraft titanium comes from four kinds of sources: Titanium Deposits you mine with an Extractor, the high-tier nodes Titanite, Augurite and Titanomagnetite, Sandstone Mounds, and shells. Before you go hunting, know that there are two raw forms, Titanium Ore and Titanium Nugget. Both end up in the Smelter, but they reach your storage in very different ways.

This guide is the deep dive on titanium only: sources, recipe amounts, permit costs and a buy-or-farm calculation. Values come from the spacecraft.tools database, which reads the game data.

โšก Quick Summary

  • Two raw forms: Titanium Ore and Titanium Nugget, both level 6 items. Two ore or four nuggets make one Titanium Ingot in the Smelter.
  • Four source types: Titanium Deposit for automation, the nodes Titanite, Augurite and Titanomagnetite, plus Sandstone Mounds and shells as an early side source.
  • Two permits are a must: Electromagnetism for the laser and detector, Personal Factory for the Extractor.
  • Buying got cheaper after the tax cut on the Trade Nexus, but the ingot itself is not the cheapest thing to buy.

Titanium Deposit: The Source for Automation

The Titanium Deposit is the only source you can put an Extractor on. It produces 60 Titanium Ore per hour, which works out to 30 ingots an hour without you standing next to it. Deposits rarely sit alone: players have documented groups of two or three Titanium Deposits, mixed clusters with aluminum, iron or platinum, and one cluster of titanium, coal and iron.

When you plan a base, look for the cluster, not the single deposit. If you have never set one up, our SpaceCraft first base guide covers the Extractor, Smelter and Pylon basics.

Titanite, Augurite and Titanomagnetite

You mine these three nodes by hand, and the yield differs a lot: Titanite gives four to five nuggets per harvest at a 100% chance, while Augurite and Titanomagnetite drop only one or two ore at 98.4%. For volume per click, Titanite is clearly the better pick. On the community map, Titanomagnetite is logged most often with 233 entries, Titanite with 125 and Augurite with only 72.

Sandstone Mounds and Shells: The Early Fallback

Before you can work tier 4 nodes, Sandstone Mounds and shells are what you have. Shells give the biggest single haul at 6 to 14 nuggets, but only about 35% of the time. That's luck, not a farming plan. Players in the Steam discussions say the same about Sandstone Mounds: the odd handful of nuggets, never a steady source.

๐ŸŽฏ How to Find SpaceCraft Titanium

The process is the same as for every other material and is covered in our guide to finding resources in SpaceCraft: fly out with your resource detector, scan what it shows you, then mine. The Mining Bureau is the paid shortcut, since it shows you deposits instead of making you search.

Two things are worth knowing. First, the titanium nodes sit on tier 4. Cataloguing new resources gives you experience, and higher-tier finds are worth more. Shiro Games doesn't publish an official table of how many points each tier gives, so anyone quoting exact XP per tier isn't working from a source you can check.

Second, forums pass around sector names like Terminus, Landmark, Fool's Rim or the asteroid field near Ophola in the Cairn sector. These come from individual players, and resource distribution differs from server to server. Trust your own scan and the Mining Bureau, not copied coordinates.

โš’๏ธ Mining SpaceCraft Titanium: Gear and Permits

Without the right unlocks you won't get at SpaceCraft titanium at all. These permits matter, with their costs from spacecraft.tools:

PermitCostUnlocks
Electromagnetism100 creditsSimple and Overclocked Mining Laser, Simple Resource Detector
Personal Factory300 creditsExtractor, required for automated mining
Asteroid Mining1,000 creditsSmall Reactive Shield and Reactive Shield, Elmerium Engine
Modular Systems 22,000 creditsHi-Pi Laser and Overclocked Hi-Pi Laser
Better Titanium7,000 creditsTitanium hull pieces, Titanium Part Casings, Heavy-Duty Beam, B-Titanium Ingot, Inert Plate

For SpaceCraft titanium from asteroids you also want Asteroid Mining, because without a Reactive Shield the environment becomes the problem. Players report over 400 nuggets in 20 minutes in a tier 1 asteroid sector on the outer edge, with the advice to stay in sunlight so the shield keeps charging. Unconfirmed, but backed by several posts in the same thread.

๐Ÿ“ฆ What You Need SpaceCraft Titanium For

Titanium Ore and Titanium Nugget are only precursors. What you actually build with is the Titanium Ingot:

StationIngredientsResultTime
Smelter2 Titanium Ore1 Titanium Ingot5 s / 1 min 30 s
Smelter4 Titanium Nugget1 Titanium Ingot5 s / 1 min 30 s
Smelter4 Titanium Ingot, 1 Vanadium Ingot3 B-Titanium Ingot22.5 s / 2 min 15 s
Chemical Factory15 Mercury, 2 Aluminum Ingot, 2 Titanium Ingot3 Levinium Ingot1 min 30 s
Workshop1 Titanium Ingot4 Metal Sheet3 s / 30 s
Workshop1 Titanium Ingot15 Nut and Bolt6 s / 1 min
Workshop1 Titanium Ingot, 1 Iron Ingot2 Strong Metal Sheet3 s / 30 s

Two chains stand out. B-Titanium Ingot needs vanadium, see our guide to SpaceCraft vanadium. And Levinium Ingot needs mercury and aluminum at the same time; the aluminum side is covered in the bauxite guide. Farm SpaceCraft titanium without planning these side lines and you end up with a full titanium store and an empty production line.

An often overlooked side route: the Recycling Plant turns 5 Titanium Scraps into 5 to 10 Titanium Ingots in 3 minutes 45 seconds; since Community Update #1 it works three times faster. Scrap from wrecks can easily beat a farming run.

๐Ÿ›’ Buying SpaceCraft Titanium Instead of Farming

Since patch v0.3.22866 on July 21, 2026, the purchase tax on the Trade Nexus is 8% instead of 20%, according to the official patch notes. That makes buying worth a look. The base prices are reference values from the database, not live market prices:

Route to 1 Titanium IngotNetwith 8% taxbefore, with 20%
Buy the ingot directly9.00 credits9.72 credits10.80 credits
Buy 2 Titanium Ore, smelt yourself6.72 credits7.26 credits8.06 credits
Buy 4 Titanium Nugget, smelt yourself7.20 credits7.78 credits8.64 credits

The takeaway: the finished ingot is the most expensive route. Buy ore and smelt it yourself and you pay about 25% less per ingot, because the Smelter pass costs time, not credits. Nuggets sit in between and make sense when no ore is on offer.

You can use the same numbers for the Extractor question. A Titanium Deposit gives 60 ore per hour. Buying those 60 ore on the Nexus costs about 218 credits with tax today, and about 242 credits before the cut. That's what one Extractor hour is worth, and it tells you whether a new base on a remote titanium cluster pays off.

One caveat: Nexus prices move, because they come from player listings. The table shows the ratio between the three routes, not guaranteed amounts.

โš ๏ธ Why Many SpaceCraft Titanium Guides Are Outdated

If you run into terms like "Refinery T2", "Titanium Plate" or "Cap-ship Reactor": those recipes come from a widely copied wiki that dates itself to the Early Access launch state. The current recipe database has neither a Refinery nor a Titanium Plate. Titanium runs through the Smelter, Workshop and Chemical Factory, and the intermediate product is the Titanium Ingot. The claim about "high-gravity planets in second-ring systems" with roughly 45 minutes of respawn can't be confirmed in any current source either.

The live version is v0.5.25674 from October 13, 2026. Major Update #1 on October 8, 2026 added Extractor Pods, which let you tap unclaimed Titanium Deposits without your own base (Remote Extraction 1 permit, 10,000 credits), and upgraded the 3x1 and 3x2 titanium hull parts. Hotfix v0.5.25570 then fixed titanium hull integrity.

โ“ Frequently Asked Questions about SpaceCraft Titanium

Where is the fastest SpaceCraft titanium?

For volume per click, Titanite nodes are best because they drop four to five nuggets at 100%. For a steady supply, an Extractor on a Titanium Deposit wins: 60 ore per hour, even while you're elsewhere.

Do I need a permit to mine SpaceCraft titanium?

For mining by hand you need a mining laser: the Simple Mining Laser (Mining Tier 2) comes with Electromagnetism for 100 credits, the Hi-Pi Laser (Mining Tier 3) with Modular Systems 2 for 2,000 credits. According to Shiro Games' dev blog, lower-tier tools can't mine higher-tier nodes. Automated mining needs Personal Factory for 300 credits and the Extractor. Asteroids add Asteroid Mining for 1,000 credits, and the high-end parts need Better Titanium for 7,000 credits.

Is it worth buying SpaceCraft titanium instead of farming it?

More often than before the tax cut. Buy ore, not ingots: two Titanium Ore plus one Smelter pass cost about 7.26 credits, against 9.72 credits for the finished ingot, with the same result.

How much Titanium Ore makes one ingot?

Two Titanium Ore make one Titanium Ingot in the Smelter, or four Titanium Nuggets. According to spacecraft.tools, both recipes take 5 seconds or 1 minute 30 seconds.

Is there SpaceCraft titanium in the starting system?

That isn't documented. The known titanium nodes are tier 4, while Sandstone Mounds and shells can drop nuggets earlier. Sector names from forums only help so much, because distribution differs from server to server.

Checked against the Shiro Games patch notes on Steam (v0.3.22866 of July 21, 2026 for the purchase tax, Community Update #1, Major Update #1, hotfix v0.5.25570 and v0.5.25674) and against the spacecraft.tools game database (v0.5.25674) (sources, yields, tiers, recipes, permit costs) as of October 2026. Community claims without official confirmation: the sector names, the asteroid yield reports, the Sandstone Mound observations and the map counts. Not verifiable and therefore left out: XP values per resource tier and planet types where titanium spawns more often. SpaceCraft is in Early Access.
