Fallout 76 Mischief Night 2026: Dates, Rewards and Farming Tips

Fallout 76 Mischief Night 2026: Dates, Rewards and Farming Tips

Fallout 76 Mischief Night runs from October 6 to October 20, 2026, at Rapidan Camp in the Skyline Valley, according to Bethesda's official community calendar. You follow the Eyebot JES-2R, cause chaos in three stages and walk away with XP and Caps, plus, going by the community's 2025 data, Legendary Modules and, with some luck, one of 16 Halloween plans you don't own yet.

This guide separates what Bethesda confirms, what the community documented from last year and what's new in 2026. We didn't have a separate Bethesda announcement for the 2026 edition when this guide was first written, so the event walkthrough below reflects the 2025 version, updated with Nuka Knights' 2026 overview from October 10, 2026.

๐Ÿ“… Dates: Mischief Night on the October calendar

Bethesda's community calendar for Season 26, "Beware the Blood Moon," runs October under the spooky season theme. Here's what's around the event:

DatesCalendar eventRelation to Mischief Night
Oct 1 to 5Double S.C.O.R.E. weekendended before it started
Oct 2 to 26Slasher-themed C.A.M.P. contestruns the whole time
Oct 6 to 20Mischief Nightthe event itself
Oct 15 to 19Double Mutationsoverlaps
Oct 20 to Nov 3Spooky Scorchedstarts right after
Oct 22 to 26Double XPonly after it ends

The key point for planning: Double XP starts two days after Mischief Night ends. If you were hoping to double the 400 XP per run, that's not happening in 2026. The Double S.C.O.R.E. weekend was also over before the event began. The calendar graphic doesn't give start or end times. The German fan site Nuka Knights lists the event from Tuesday, October 6, 18:00 to Tuesday, October 20, 18:00; we couldn't find a time zone on the page.

๐Ÿ”„ What changes in 2026 compared to 2025

Last year Mischief Night ran from October 7 to 21, 2025. It was the event's return after a break since 2019, and it was rebuilt for it: the original took place at the Whitespring Resort, the new version at Rapidan Camp. For 2026 the dates moved up by one day.

We found no official announcement of content changes. The fan site Nuka Knights lists two additions from The Slasher update. Both are not confirmed by Bethesda:

  • New enemies in the event: according to Nuka Knights, the Pint-Sized Phantoms and the Pint-Sized Slasher can show up during Mischief Night.
  • A new seasonal party crasher: according to Nuka Knights, the "Uninvited Pint-Sized Phantom" crashes Mischief Night and carries its own rewards. We couldn't read which ones on the page, and how often it appears is controlled server-side by Bethesda.

Nuka Knights also makes clear that this event has no Slasher season rewards. Those are tied to the Slasher-masked Phantoms that appear alongside Spooky Scorched. If you're chasing loot from The Slasher, the Scorched event from October 20 is where to look.

๐ŸŽƒ How Fallout 76 Mischief Night works

Bethesda's own description from 2025: you talk to the cheeky Eyebot JES-2R at Rapidan Camp in the Skyline Valley, grab a costume from the item chest or bring your own outfit, and then go raid candy bowls, vandalize and blow things up.

Bethesda never published the exact stages. According to fallout.wiki, the 2025 event has three parts, each with its own "Sow mayhem" progress meter:

StageLocationTasks (community source)
1Forest below the campFollow JES-2R, kill enemies, blow things up, light bonfires, then light the Mischief pyre
2Cabins in the campKill enemies, blow things up, raid trick-or-treat bowls, graffiti walls, fork lawns, then light the next pyre
3Near the landing padKill enemies, blow things up, raid trick-or-treat bowls
FinaleLanding padDestroy the Rapidan elite security force Assaultrons, then the Vertibird

For the finale, fallout.wiki lists three legendary three-star Assaultrons, and Nuka Knights' 2026 overview also lists three three-star Aggressotrons. Either way, expect a tough boss fight.

๐Ÿ‘ป Does Mischief Night start every hour?

According to fallout.wiki, the 2025 version starts at the top of every hour and restarts if the previous run wasn't finished. Bethesda hasn't confirmed that schedule officially.

๐ŸŽญ Costumes and masks: do you need one?

For the 2019 original the answer was clear. Bethesda said back then that wearing your favorite costume doubled your progress on objectives and raised your chance at exclusive rewards. That applied to in-world costumes, crafted ones, Atomic Shop costumes and Fasnacht masks.

For the new Mischief Night, Bethesda only says that a chest with costumes is ready at the start. Community sources disagree: the Fandom wiki lists wearing a costume as an optional objective with bonus progress, while Nuka Knights says a costume is no longer needed to take part or to get rewards.

The practical fix costs nothing: grab a costume from the chest before every run. If it gives bonus progress, you have it. If it doesn't, you've lost nothing. Your Fasnacht masks from the summer work too.

๐ŸŽ Mischief Night rewards (2025 data)

Officially, Bethesda only mentions snacks, XP, Caps and more. The table below comes from fallout.wiki and Nuka Knights and reflects 2025. In its 2026 overview (as of October 10, 2026), Nuka Knights lists 400 XP, 50 Caps, three of 15 food items, a Stimpak and RadAway or Rad-X; it doesn't list Legendary Modules or bait there:

RewardAmount or chanceNote
XP400guaranteed
Caps50guaranteed
Legendary Modules1 to 3guaranteed
Bait - Improved1 to 3guaranteed
Aid and food1 random item eachRadAway, Rad-X, Stimpaks, candy, pumpkin dishes
Plan: Mischief Night Steinguaranteed until learnednot awarded again after that
Player Title: Goblinonce
One random planabout 6% per planfrom a pool of 17

The wiki's quick walkthrough lists 250 XP and 60 Caps, which conflicts with its own reward table. We go with the table. The percentage comes from a community breakdown that gives every plan the same chance.

๐Ÿฆ‡ The full plan pool

According to fallout.wiki, the 2025 pool has these 17 plans:

  • Plan: Bat Plushie and Plan: Bat Plushie Backpack
  • Plan: Scorpion Plushie and Plan: Scorpion Plushie Backpack
  • Plan: Jack-in-the-box Backpack and Plan: Jack-O'-Lantern Backpack Flair
  • Plan: Cauldron Hot Tub
  • Plan: Deathclaw Gargoyle Statue and Plan: Large Deathclaw Gargoyle Statue
  • Plan: Spooky Scarecrow Outfit and Plan: Spooky Scarecrow Headpiece
  • Plan: Boney Arm Sconce, Plan: Crooked Metal Fence, Plan: Cultist Lamp, Plan: Hay Bale Throne and Plan: Skeletal Weapon Rack
  • Plan: Mischief Night Stein

Most of these are C.A.M.P. decorations, so make sure you have budget and stash space left before you start farming.

๐Ÿ“Š How many runs you need for every plan

Here's the math other guides leave out. You get the Mischief Night Stein guaranteed on your first run, so 16 other plans are left to collect. If each plan is equally likely and there's no duplicate protection, you need about 54 completed runs on average for the full set. If the Stein stays in the random pool after you've learned it, as the wiki's list of 17 suggests, it's about 58.

That's the coupon collector problem: the first plans come fast, but the last missing one only shows up once every 16 to 17 runs on average. That last plan alone costs you about 16 runs.

GoalRuns on averageHours at 1 run per hour
one specific plan16 to 1716 to 17
half of all plansabout 1111
all 16 remaining plansabout 54 to 5854 to 58

This is our own model based on the community data, not a Bethesda number. With 14 days, that's doable, but only at about four runs a day. If the 2025 module reward still applies, you'll collect over 100 Legendary Modules along the way at an average of two per run. Where to put them: our Fallout 76 best weapons tier list shows which guns deserve them.

๐Ÿ’ก Fallout 76 Mischief Night farming tips

  • Be at Rapidan Camp before the top of the hour. Fast travel costs Caps. A teammate or a C.A.M.P. nearby saves them.
  • Bring explosives. The stages ask you to blow things up and destroy objects. Grenades and mines fill the meter faster than melee.
  • Don't just fight. The meters also fill from bowls, graffiti and fires. Split tasks across your team.
  • Keep the bait. The Improved Bait from every run is useful for the seasonal fall fish that have been in the game since September 22.
  • Watch the Double Mutations. They run from October 15 to 19. Whether Mischief Night itself can be mutated isn't confirmed.
  • Finish by October 20. After that Spooky Scorched takes over and the plans are gone until next year.
