Conan Exiles Corruption: 4 Ways to Remove It and the Attribute Reset

You can remove Conan Exiles corruption in four ways: with Entertainer thralls, the Cleansing Brew, the Champion's Leggings or a Heart of a Hero. That only covers regular corruption, though. If you corrupted attributes with Soul Essence, that part only goes away with an attribute reset.

This guide keeps both cases apart, uses the item names from the Enhanced database and points out where popular tips no longer match the current game.

🩸 What corruption in Conan Exiles actually does

Funcom describes the system in its official blog post on the Age of Sorcery update like this: the more corrupted a character is, the less health and stamina it has. In game you see a purple section pushing over the red and yellow bars. Funcom also sets a hard limit: an exile can't sacrifice more than half of their health and stamina.

The usual sources of corruption are casting spells, corrupted areas with a purple haze and attacks from corrupted enemies. According to Funcom, every spell requires a certain amount of corruption and adds more when you cast it. If you work with sorcery in Conan Exiles, a purple bar is unavoidable.

⚖️ Two kinds of corruption, and why it matters

Before you start brewing potions, check which kind you have. It decides whether any of the cures work at all.

The second row is officially confirmed. Funcom writes that Entertainers reduce corruption, but with corrupted attributes it stays locked at that level and only disappears when you reset your attributes. If you wonder why your bar won't drop even next to an Entertainer, this is almost always the reason.

According to the community wiki, each corrupted attribute point locks 2.5 percent of your health and stamina. At 20 points that lands exactly on the official 50 percent cap. Funcom doesn't publish the 2.5 percent itself. It's a community figure.

💃 Method 1: Entertainers

The classic way to remove Conan Exiles corruption, and the most convenient one at home. The thrall profession is called Entertainer. Place a broken Entertainer in your base, stand near them and wait. Besides cleansing, they also make your health regenerate faster.

Higher tiers work faster. How much faster is disputed: the English community wiki gives percentages per second, other community guides give points per second. There is no official number, so we don't quote one here. According to the community wiki, the range is about ten meters, measured as a sphere. An Entertainer on the floor below may be out of reach.

🧪 Method 2: Cleansing Brew on the road

The Cleansing Brew is your answer when you need to cleanse far from base. The Enhanced database lists its effect as cleansing, and the description talks about removing a small part of the corrupting influence from body and mind. Community sources put it at five percent of maximum health per brew. That number isn't officially confirmed.

Both recipes take five seconds and need fuel in the stove. The bottleneck is the Yellow Lotus Blossom. Since the Potion of Bestial Memory needs Yellow Lotus Blossoms too, keeping a stockpile pays off.

🛡️ Method 3: passive cleansing with the Champion's Leggings

The Champion's Leggings are the only armor piece the database lists with a cleansing effect. The item text says the piece periodically removes corruption from the wearer and grants a bonus to Strength. Community guides mention one point every 30 seconds.

The leggings belong to the Arena Champion's Armor knowledge and are crafted at an Improved Armorer's Bench from 20 Armor Scraps, 20 Layered Fur and one Perfected Heavy Padding. The rate is slow, but it works without any input while you farm or cast in Conan Exiles.

❤️ Method 4: Heart of a Hero, instant but with a caveat

Almost every Conan Exiles guide treats the Heart of a Hero as the panic button that wipes all corruption at once. The community wiki and several 2026 guides confirm that.

Here the Enhanced data differs: the Enhanced database, which is maintained straight from the game files, only lists a food value of 5 for the Heart of a Hero. It doesn't show a cleansing effect like the one on the Cleansing Brew. Whether the effect just isn't being read out or is really gone is unclear. Test the heart at low corruption before you count on it in a dungeon.

According to the database, it drops with a guaranteed chance from named Relic Hunter bosses in the Unnamed City. New compared to older guides: the Enhanced database also lists a recipe for it at the Firebowl Cauldron.

🔄 Corrupted attributes: only a reset clears them

Locked corruption can't be removed with any of the four methods, not even with patience. Funcom lets you corrupt Strength, Vitality and Authority up to the number of points you invested, and each point costs one Soul Essence. You get Soul Essence from the Soul Drain ritual at the Sacrificial Stone. The only way back is a full attribute reset.

For that you need the Potion of Bestial Memory. Its description says it resets attribute points. You craft it at the Alchemist's Bench from one Water-filled Glass Flask, three Yellow Lotus Blossoms and three Blood. The community wiki warns that it spoils after two minutes, so only craft it when you're ready to drink it.

Name trap: many guides recommend the Yellow Lotus Potion for the reset. According to the community wiki it does reset your attributes, but it also resets all your knowledge points, so you have to relearn your recipes afterward. The Enhanced database only shows its tooltip about hallucinations and visions.

⚠️ Three mistakes that slow down cleansing

Entertainer on the wrong floor: since the range is measured as a sphere according to the community wiki, an Entertainer in the basement doesn't reach you upstairs. Put them in the room where you spend time after a trip, for example next to your loot chests.

Brew against locked corruption: chugging one potion after another does nothing if the bar is stuck because of corrupted attributes. Reset first, then cleanse. Otherwise you burn Yellow Lotus Blossoms you need for the Potion of Bestial Memory.

Casting right after: every spell raises Conan Exiles corruption again immediately. Plan your cleansing breaks before the next boss fight, not after.

• On the road: Cleansing Brew on your hotbar, plus the Champion's Leggings for steady reduction.

Why doesn't my corruption go down next to an Entertainer?

Most likely because you corrupted attributes. No Entertainer can remove that part. According to Funcom, corruption stays locked at that level, and only an attribute reset removes it. Any regular corruption on top of that still drops as usual.

How much corruption can I have at most?

Funcom states that an exile can sacrifice at most half of their health and stamina. With corrupted attributes you hit that cap at 20 corrupted points, according to the community wiki.

Which thrall profession removes corruption?
